Why would you want to talk about his last 7 games being good when the author clearly wants to talk about his being bad since August 1, which is what, 15-16 games?

I'd start the slump on July 31 which is the day after his walk off grand slam home run. I'd say it was 12 games in duration.

The slump dropped his OPS from .793 to .740. He was 5 for 47 over these 12 games with only 1 extra base hit which was a game tying dinger off of Misiorowski in the series finale against the Brewers.

Lee is our future 2B and Houston Ss and Culpepper at 3B . Clemons back to utility and we still have to resolve 1B . I might look to trade Lewis and Larnach for more pitching and go with Gabby and Luke at 1B .

The fact that Kody is (was) in a slumps is unfortunate but not all that serious.  Byron Buxton is in like a 3 for 33 slump.  He hasnt hit a homerun since June and has like 2 RBI since then.  And those were from field choices where an out was recorded.  He looks lost at the plate and has missed 40 games this year.  Yet he always gets a pass on his poor play.

He never gets one from you.

After another 2-hit game his OPS is 1.233 for his last 4 games.  The BABIP gods probably still owe him, too.

The BABIP gods took away his 21 Dingers and forced a fight between the high exit velocity gods and the low line drive rate gods.

It's like putting a humidifier and dehumidifier in the same room to see what unit wins.

I'm dreaming of Houston at short, Culpepper at 2nd and Clemens as the super utility.

This. Unless they trade for a superstar, trading for a SS or 2b is bad asset management.

I don't think he gets a free pass at all. This article isn't about him?

Lewis has earned the opportunity to lock 1B down next year.  I am not sure what more you want from him since his call up.  He has raised his average almost .100 points since he was demoted and it doesn't matter where you start from, that is tough to do this late in the season.  He is showing signs that he could play a good 1B with time and more reps similar to Mauer.
