Agreed - usually I’m all for cautious base running, but considering what Buck is doing with RISP this year… Send ‘em!

I can see both sides.  Buxton is your best hitter so you need to trust him to get the runs in.  On the other hand, you watch him swing the bat lately and you think that Jackson should have been sent.  I'm not sure about what the numbers would suggest, but my eyes suggest that Buxton has better AB's when he is in the field.  I said this at the beginning of the thread.  I thought Bell would be better in the lineup today than Buxton.  If Buxton isn't going to be in the field, he should just get a straight day off.

Would be very Twins like to put up 16 last night and completely crap out at the plate today.

Struggled to find the zone early in the game and that came back to haunt, but that was a quicker inning. Might be the typical bulk count today, but I'd just let him go as long as he can just to save guys for the Dodgers tomorrow

That seems to happen with any baseball team it seems.  I listen to some sports betting podcasts (I don't bet as I have enough expensive vices).  They always seem to bet the under on a team total whenever there is an offensive output like the Twins had last night.

Stat they showed on the broadcast is that Buxton is the 4th worst, for qualifying batters, at hitting with RISP> He's batting .154 in those situations.

This guy wasn’t exactly lights out at AAA, swinging at pretty much every pitch makes his life a little easier.

I read something about him giving up nothing there. Now I'm curious.

Oh I see.you meant Royce 😉

Royce is regressing in a hurry.

This may be something to consider.  The MLB banned the shift for the 2023 season.  Prior to that, the Twins were one of the most shift-happy teams in the MLB.  It allowed them to use poorer fielders since they could shift them to where they would be the most efficient and concentrate on their hitting.  Since they can't do that anymore, we now have a group of young, poor fielders that we need to cycle through our system.  Our pitching has subsequently suffered due to the poor defense in the field.  We have seen some improvements.  Sizemore has definitely helped Larnach become a serviceable OF.  He'll never win a GG, but he makes fewer errors in the field than he used to.

Another solid defensive inning from Kreidler… And considering he’s one of the two hits so far… Need I say more!!!
