I guess it depends on what or who you want to believe.  If you believe the report from Dan Hayes as pointed out in the TD article, they kept KC down to fine tune his defense.  He did make a start at 3rd yesterday, which he has only done 7 times in total since starting in AAA.  If the organization wants him to be flexible in the infield, it makes sense to keep him down a little more to get some defensive work at 3rd or 2nd as well as SS prior to calling him up.

I can understand the eagerness to get him up here since he shows such incredible potential, but like the TD article noted he's played less than 40 games in AAA. I'm all for bringing him up this season, but a little bit more refinement can't hurt.

Like the prevailing mentality goes, we aren't expected to compete this year. No harm in making sure he's ready to succeed, or at least not fall flat.

He is not up because people whose life is baseball do not think he should be up.

So what is the magic number of games that they need to play in AAA.

Another weird idea....refine your best prospects at one position don't move them around the field like they are interchangeable Lego blocks that just snap in and fit everywhere.

Another part of that is that these are humans, not baseball playing robots.  They have things like emotions, and self-confidence, or lack of self-confidence.

Some people struggle with failure a lot, and throwing em in the deep end to see if they can swim can do more harm than good.
