Remember this offseason, when we were talking about all the Starting Pitching depth we had. We basically just lost a whole major league caliber roatation from injuries.  We lost three playoff caliber starters in Lopez, Bradley, and Abel along with a decent 4 or 5 on any rotation in David Festa. There is truly no such thing as too much pitching. Joey Gallo, anyone?

True, but I don't blame the team. Some teams don't have five pitchers.....

We’re going to find out years from now that TF was built on an ancient burial ground

Kinda like the overlook hotel in the Shining? 🤣

So Lopez - done for the season, Abel probably out a few more weeks at least, Bradley likey out until August, Festa still is not right…. That leaves Ryan, SWR, Ober, and uhhhhh fill in the blank. This team is so doomed now.

You know, 2 starts ago he threw 114 pitches. I remember thinking "I hope we don't regret this". When he threw normally in the last start I sighted with relief. Too soon...

Bradley has thrown more than 90 pitches in all eight of his starts. The number of pitches is almost always less important than stressful long innings. Pitching is hard on every arm. Even the soft tossers get arm injuries. There is no evidence that Taj was injured from throwing too many pitches. Bradley had a similar injury when he was with Tampa Bay. Maybe his pectorals are his weak link. No use in speculation.

The Twins like every team are very careful and watch their pitchers closely. Some college coaches were negligent once upon a time with pitch counts over 140 as a regular matter. Most did not abuse the pitchers. It is virtually impossible today because players can simply say no and transfer to another school. Professional baseball clubs are very careful because of the huge money invested. I can't remember the last time a pitcher threw over 130 pitches. Nobody  needs to be concerned in the least about the Twins overworking a pitcher.

Well, injuries are part of the game, but this is beyond depressing. I was really pumped about having Bradley on the Twins and so far he's justified my faith, so this injury is obviously disappointing. I was (honestly) hopeful that the Twins would be competitive this season, but that's looking like a total pipe dream at this point. Right now I would be willing to trade any and every healthy player on the roster for prospects and just do a complete rebuild. This team ain't going anywhere but down this season.

I'll take the blame. I've jinxed every team I root for for 35 years now. Now into my 4th consecutive decade of all hope getting wrecked, regardless of the franchise, for men's pro sports. (I'd stick to women's sports, but would probably start to ruin them for everyone else too)

Sigh.

Bradley was looking so good this season. Only one Game Score under 55 all season. Half his starts had a Game Score over 60. Of course he had to get injured. How could he not?

Why in the world did tge Twins bring up lefty reliever Rojas and send fellow lefty Funderburk down on Sunday.  Funderburke was one of the few guys in the bullpen doing fairly well.  They sure had other candidates to send down or DFA.  Big slap in the face to Funderburke.  Such a messed up organization.
