Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31 Posted March 31 RIP to PFF. Sounds like they won’t be offering anymore consumer products. They’ve been bleeding talent for years, and as a result the grades/analysis have been getting worse each year. TheLeviathan and nicksaviking 2

Their player grades and overall content became worse over the years after they lost the main core of guys who built it from the ground up. I'm surprised there haven't been other PFF competitors in the market yet. The NFL hiding data from the fan base isn't great. nicksaviking, Mike Sixel and TheLeviathan 3

His career arc is looking a lot like Russell Wilson right now. I think he’s still good? But I’d probably take at least 15 QBs over him at this time TheLeviathan 1

That's a tricky question, as a plain pocket passer he is below average and his running has been his best trait, problem is defenses have been taking that away and forcing him to throw in the intermediate range, where he has failed to get AJ Brown the ball. He has his strengths - we saw him connect on 3 or so deep passes in the previous Vikings game - and I think the OC has to do a lot of work getting the offense to revolve around his strengths, more than the typical QB. But he does come with the cheat code that is the Brotherly Shove that gives him the luxury to only need to get to 3rd/4th and 1 when other QBs need to get the full first down. Russell Wilson is a fair comparison, I don't think he is going to last as a starter very long into his 30s. I have him and Kyler in a 2QB dynasty league and it may be time to start planning for the future. Hurts is only 28 but he might be going down the Kyler Murray path soon and playing on a one year deal somewhere else, maybe even in 2027. nicksaviking, Vanimal46 and TheLeviathan 3

Yeah, given the weapons and line in front of him, his production is pretty mediocre. And trending the wrong way. I like you and @Vanimal46's comps.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Posted April 3 So Kirk's deal is essentially 1/20M, but it is signed as 5/172M. Is Kirk really just trying to be the all-time Free Agent? We hear about it as a joke, but I'm starting to think he actively is trying to hold that crown as a thing he cares about. Vanimal46 1

The full terms of most FA contracts is funny money. Kirko is taking it to the extreme with this contract. In traditional Kirko fashion I think there’s a little bit of guaranteed money pushed to 2027? Like $8 million or something. He just loves holding a team over a barrel because of guaranteed money the following year.

And in actuality he's only getting $10M in new money, he was already getting $10M from Atlanta. The Raiders are paying $11.3M and the Falcons $8.7M now.

Yeah, one of those project players that sounds fun but you know will almost certainly never make it since he likely doesn't have enough experience. The tip off that this is a novelty is that not only did the post not list a position for this young man, it didn't even bother listing his name. Going to an actual source, his name is Uar Bernard apparently. Never played in pads before. But he's from a small Nigerian village. Hope he gets drafted because even Mr. Irrelevant gets 4M. That's still life changing money. But, while unlikely, it's not impossible. This is how Jordan Mailata got into the league. Vanimal46 1

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Dexter Lawrence traded to Cincy for the 10th overall pick is crazy. Giants back to having 2 top 10 picks in a draft. If I'm a fan of NYG I am thrilled and dumbfounded how that happened. nicksaviking and Danchat 2

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 I'm confused how Jonathan Greenard's down season didn't look like a 1st team AP season compared to Lawrence's down season. Lawrence was almost non-existent last season. Is Joey Schoen, the much maligned Giants GM, actually good at his job? Mike Sixel 1

I think Cleveland got the short end here, slightly, but they need capital to get a QB in the next draft. I wouldn't be surprised if Verse goes to a bad team with a young QB before the next draft in a three way deal for Cleveland to move up and get a QB. Vanimal46 1
