Next Monday the legal tampering period starts so we'll start finding out what free agents are headed where.

In the meantime, I came across this quote and thought it too precious not to share;

You don’t take a job if you’re not excited about quarterbacks that are in the building

- New Browns offensive coordinator Travis Switzer

It couldn't possibly be the title change and raise in salary?

Chicago trades WR DJ Moore and a 2026 5th round pick traded to the Bills for their 2026 2nd round pick.

Imagine if we shopped around Addison... A 2nd round pick is easily attainable if not a 2027 1st.

Buffalo is also taking on DJ Moore's salary and he's got 3 years left at $24.5 mill cap hits.

Thanks Kwesi! Both big DT signings in FA last year are released 1 year later. Plus Ryan Kelly as well... Which, why hasn't he retired yet? He can't seriously be considering playing again after sustaining 3 concussions last season in limited time?

Just another reason to be glad he's gone....or, maybe, these are the guys KOC and Flores picked?

Right? Addison is one drunken night away from not playing for a year....

Yeah, but other teams are well aware of that too, though.

I'd be absolutely shocked if they can get a first rounder for him in any year.  If they can, take it and sprint away before the other GM changes their mind.  I'd even jump immediately on an offer for a second rounder

Rumors are that Flores stood on the table for Allen.

Yeah, both Allen and Hargrave felt like Flores choices. All of the defensive players that signed the past two years seem like they were Flores choices actually. I'm fine keeping it that way, despite the Allen and Hargrave misses.

Old friend Garrett Bradbury was traded to the Bears today. This news only intensifies my desire to draft a big ol' DT early in the draft. I think we all have the game plan to beat Bradbury.

Alec Pierce re-signing with the Colts. That surprises me.

For some reason Pierce gained a ton of hype this offseason. Yeah, he was a fun player, but a 1003 yard season doesn't seem nearly as special to me as it does the free agent rankers. He only had 47 catches, which means he was basically a 'chuck it deep' WR. Which,  sure those guys are exciting, but they're too one dimensional to be a top level WR. It's basically Marquez Valdez Scantling. I'd guess last year was his peak.

Kenny Golladay 2.0. A massive overpay for WR who's solely dependent on the deep ball.

Pierce for $29M a year and then basically handing Pittman over to the Steelers for free is certainly a choice...

I don't get that move at all.  I expected a 3rd for Pittman.  They go a swap like we did for Ingram for him.

Paying all of that money for a deep threat WR with no healthy QB to get him the ball. I could see Indy imploding next season.

I wonder if they'll ever throw the ball next year.

As someone who has De'Von Achane on a dynasty fantasy football team, Willis just has to dump it off to him then run it the rest of the time. I'm all in on that idea

So, they are just trying to be in .500 purgatory?

I actually like the move, $22M per year for Willis is a lot lower than the $30M+ figures I was seeing bandied about. He was a very talented prospect who needed several years of development after basically playing backyard football at Liberty. Now they have a guy with upside and if it goes poorly, they get a high pick in a super deep QB draft next year.

The Tua deal was an unmitigated disaster and they're sinking way too much money into the QB position, but I'd take Willis at that price over most the other options. Outside of Murray for $1.3M. Much better than playing a placeholder like Kirk or Rodgers or reaching on a QB prospect in a bad class.

I don't think Willis is a good enough passer though. He throws a good deep ball but that's about it. He's never thrown more than 23 passes in a game and when he would come in to replace Love, they cut the passing options in playbook down significantly.
