But yeah, the Twins have a hitting problem, not a platoon problem.

HAD a hitting problem.

Derek Shelton said in his interview that he'd have these guys playing like the 1975 Reds.

Ok. Compare Arraez to Tony Gwynn who was one of the greatest hitters of our time. Gwynn topped 88 runs scored only 4 times in his career- mostly at the beginning. Would you not sign him because of that? I just can't agree with the thinking that nobody (especially the Twins) is signing the best pure hitter (or close to it) of our time. Of course defenses know how to play him so his average may drop but, like Gwynn, he is slower than normal and, unlike Gwynn, his defense isn't the greatest though you don't have to play defense as a DH (if needed there).

Let's not compare Arraez to Gwynn, Arraez is not Gwynn. Gwynn had a higher career AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, HR%, BB%, a lower SO%. He was not a station-to-station runner until late in his career when weight and knee issues slowed him up, though he had double digit steals as late as his age 37 season.

I am begging everyone to stop comparing Luis Arraez to Tony Gwynn. He’s not Tony Gwynn. He was never on a Tony Gwynn trajectory.

I've got great news for you. Josh Bell strikes out at a rate that is significantly lower than MLB average.

He too can hit a flipping baseball.

Didn't say anything about Bell, I like the signing
