Hrbowski Verified Member Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 MLB needs to get out of bed with big gambling.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Innocent until proven guilty. If true huge PR problem for MLB.
FlyingFinn Verified Member Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Clase makes millions. Either he's in trouble with huge debts from gambling or he's addicted to gambling. How else can you explain throwing intentional balls for a reported $5K and a total of $400K. The risk is jail time and never playing baseball again. Not worth it.

tony&rodney Verified Member Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 If Ortiz and Claase like to play baseball they would enhance somebody's amateur team. In a few years they could join a Senior League. MLB doesn't have to prove guilt, they are both finished in that league. Human behavior never ceases to surprise. We think people must have some intelligence because of their positions in life but repeatedly that assumption is shown to be erroneous. Too bad, Claase was a good arm.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Cowards, honestly. You know what would fix this national problem? Eliminating it entirely! But nope, they still need your money. Hrbowski, Mike Sixel and nicksaviking 3

All this legalized gambling is just funneling billions and billions of dollars from the middle class to the wealthy who will sit on it and take it out of circulation. Forget about and moral issues with gambling or concerns with addiction, this is one of the many things that is absolutely KILLING the economy. It's never going to get back on track if we don't start putting people in charge who will start turning off the faucets that are pouring free money to these people who have zero care about the rest of society.
