The Twins open the second half of their 2025 season with a road series against the Colorado Rockies, and judging from anecdotal evidence, it’ll essentially feel like a home game. Twins Territory has settled on this being THE road trip this year.

Twins Territory is right. Whether you’re already booked, still thinking about it, or having regrets, read on for five quick tips based on my recent visit in May.

1. Keep The Logistics Simple
One advantage Denver has over other cities is that the logistics for catching a game at Coors Field are very straightforward. Both Minneapolis and Denver are major hubs, making flights plentiful and affordable. There’s a train from the airport to downtown that’s just $10, or Ubers run about $40-50 but can be economical if you share with a group. Coors Field is located downtown, so hotel options are plentiful, and though they can be pricey, you won’t need to pay for a rental car. And tickets to the game are even more plentiful. Speaking of tickets…

2. Get Seats Along the Third Base Line (Especially for a Night Game)
If attending a night game, seats along the first baseline (home side) can have direct sun exposure until late evening. Consider choosing the visitor’s side along the third baseline to avoid squinting. For day games, know that there isn’t a “shady” or “sunny” side. Virtually the whole stadium will be in the sun, unless you’re under cover. (Aim for the back of the lower seats.)

If you’re price-sensitive when it comes to the tickets, see the next tip.

3. PREGAME AT THE STADIUM AT LEAST ONCE!
(Caps are intended. I’m shouting at you.) Coors Field’s absolute best feature is its awesome two-level rooftop bar in right field, which offers $3 Coors and Coors Light drafts until first pitch. Gates open two hours early; arrive early to beat the crowds and enjoy stunning views of downtown and the mountains. (The picture above was taken from there.)

This area also doubles as a great place to socialize while watching the game if you purchase cheap tickets. They have rails that overlook the game (albeit from the upper deck), a full bar, and a selection of beers beyond the macro brews. But if you’re really interested in trying beers....

4. Explore Craft Beer Outside the Stadium
Funny, when your stadium is named “Coors,” the options within tend to be dominated by Coors products. Within the stadium, you can find a few exceptions, and I’d suggest you check out "The Sandlot" brewery in center field, where the original Blue Moon was brewed before it was named that. But even better, visit nearby spots like Westbound and Down (in an alley near the stadium), Our Mutual Friend Brewery (Rhino district), or Tap 14 (Blake Street), which isn’t a brewery but boasts dozens of local taps and rooftop seating.

5. Postgame on Blake Street
After the game, the action moves to Blake Street, directly adjacent to the ballpark on the downtown side. The most popular spots include Jackson’s and McGregor Square, but there is no shortage of other places, and many offer rooftop views. You may even see one flying a Twins flag—Swanky’s—but the truth is that they change their team flag depending on the visiting club. (It’s really a Wisconsin bar, so close enough?)

Bonnes tip: Play Coors Field’s Split the Pot
Hardly anyone participates in the "Split the Pot" at Coors Field. I’ve seen pots multiple times larger at spring training games. Therefore, your odds of winning there are comparatively fantastic. My wife won over $1,600 with her $20 entry in May, which covered our trip—plus more.

Bottom line: you’re in for a memorable few days if you join the throng of Minnesotans this weekend. Enjoy your trip, cheer loud, and Win Twins!

Thanks, John.  My son is a baseball guy who went to Denver U forty years ago to play ball and never left Colorado.  Have often asked how the Rockies have really good attendance with seemingly crappy teams year-after-year.  His response was simple...tons of people come to games to party more so than watching baseball.

Enjoy your weekend.

Absolutely... Have your Coors and get a Blue Moon at the spot it was first brewed. While you are enjoying those 10 to 20 beers at the stadium... Get the Elvis Shake. It's not something you are going to make at home and you can't find it at the local Dairy Queen or Cold Stone.

Despite the unique combination of ingredients (Banana Ice Cream, Peanut Butter, Caramel Corn and Bacon). It actually tastes OK... but... admittedly you'll be braver to try one after 8 beers.

If you drive yourself to Coors Field... Rental Car or road tripping in a Kia like I did. I'll pass along that downtown Denver is a nice walk in the summer time, the parking was plentiful and progressively cheaper as you drive away from the stadium. I found a nice spot with a nice walk for a very reasonable price by not pulling into the first location I saw.

In addition to photos like the one from above, I’ve also gotten some amazing sunset photos from the upper deck in right field.

And yes, I’ve also gotten lower level seats in the RF corner and spent the evening looking into the sun.

Good to know. I will be in section 318W with my family for Star Wars night on Saturday. Probably won't post here again until next weekend.

My wife and I enjoyed the Twins' last regular season series in Coors Field in 2023.

I was told by my seat neighbor Rockies fan that the reason their attendence is so high is because so many out of town fans come to Coors Field.

Nicest fans as I have found anywhere. We also did a food/history tour of Old Denver, well worth the money.

We sat behind third base the first game and planned on trying different seats for the 2nd and 3rd games but changed our mind because of the view.

3rd game went into extra innings (last game of the season and the playoffs were looming)so the Twins sent out a position player to pitch the 11th inning. The only blemish on the whole trip.

My family went to a game on a trip to Colorado.  It was not a Twins game.  It is a very pretty stadium the views are awesome.

I’ll be there tonight with friends who are getting us a table in the Mountain Ranch Club in the right field corner. It’s a “ballpark fare buffet,” so if the Twins don’t do well I can eat too much instead of drinking too much.

Live it up, do both!

Wear a plain brown paper bag over your head

Twins fans were everywhere, most of them wearing nicer gear than my old, faded TC hat. Rockies fans treated me well, getting nicer as the game went on. One guy actually thanked me for Minnesota fielding a team that even the Rockies could beat. I’m sure they’d welcome us back anytime.

We had the $32 buffet, and wow, was it worth it. Our table of 6 (two kids) had at least a hundred of the coconut shrimp, a couple dozen “chicken lollipops,” and countless burgers, brats, and fries. The waiter kept our pint glasses filled with ice water at all times, and the brownies, cheesecake, and apple pie for dessert were irresistible. Only two in our party had a beer. So even though the Twins were making the Rockies look good, it was a great experience and eating too much was more than enough. I highly recommend the Mountain Ranch Club to anyone visiting Coors Field.
