That was a brutal play by Larnach. Julien deserves some of the criticism he receives and I'm pretty done with him, but it has always surprised me that Larnach's blunders go quietly.

Pitching gets really tough when every pitch is critical and the manager has no confidence in the offense, playing the infield in Fenway Park in the second inning.

While I called for trading Paddack all winter and spring, he has been pretty decent thus far; a fair #5 pitcher.

For this team to have success with the position players they have, you would need the second coming of Casey Stengel...so it's not all on Rocco. But you combine subpar talent with terrible decisions from the dugout and here we are.

so it's not all on Rocco.--   He is the Boss -  but your right not all on him   ?  51 % rocco

51%? He could be bound and gagged in the dugout, and all we’d hear is “put away your spreadsheet Rocco”.

It was a stupid call that cost two runs. 2 runs should not be insurmountable. Rocco doesn’t throw a pitch, or swing a bat.

the players gotta play, Falvey needs to get some players who can play.

and yes, Rocco needs to manage like he knows what he’s doing.

None of that was his fault. Catch the pop up! Play infield normal depth.

And how many batters has he put away, none.

Sad to see Zebby with another ineffective outing for the Saint today.

Not too bad really. A couple of balls that might be outs with a dry field. Too many pitches, but he may be working on specific things as opposed to just getting outs. Wish the Twins would let their pitchers go 100-110 pitches at AAA.

My thoughts exactly and it's a point I've raised before.

Regardless of what one thinks of Rocco's managerial decisions, the players on the field need to perform regularly to at least a semi-competent level.  Except for the 1, 2, and 3 starters, and maybe Jax, that's something we've seen very little of since the end of the '23 season.  And from the looks of it, there probably isn't much coming to significantly help the situation anytime soon.

We need to start putting more on the players to perform the way they're supposed to.

And whose job is it to make sure the younger players continue to develop so they perform the way they should.  Whose job is it to put players in a position to succeed.  In my opinion that is on Rocco and he and his staff does not do these things well.

Without belaboring the point, it's high time we start blaming some of the players we have for not performing up to a minimum standard.  Everything bad happening in the field is not all Rocco's fault, as some of us here so badly want to believe.
