Disappointing but not surprising at all. With Lewis being out until early May probably, it makes it even more important to keep Correa and Buxton healthy. One silver lining is that we are relatively prepared to weather Lewis' IL stint. Miranda could take over 3rd as well as Castro. Defensively Lee would be best, big then that opens 2b which Castro could handle well enough for a month. I just hope Julien doesn't automatically make the team now. I really think he needs to play everyday in AAA rather than be a bench bat with the twins. I think I'd rather see Gasper short term until Keaschal is ready to play the field

And people wanted to sign him to a long term deal.... No chance. No way.

Couldn't agree more. No extension. Ever. But I don't agree with the idea of trading him either. The reason being who would give us any value for him at all?  We get what we get from him for the next 5 years and say our good byes.  Just my opinion.

I asked my AI program about this and here is its response:

Hamstring injuries are common in baseball, especially for players who need to sprint frequently. Here are some effective strategies to help prevent them:

  1. Proper warm-up and stretching - Always include dynamic stretches focusing on the posterior chain before activities.
  2. Strength training - Develop balanced leg strength with exercises targeting the hamstrings, glutes, and core. Nordic hamstring curls, Romanian deadlifts, and glute bridges are particularly effective.
  3. Flexibility work - Incorporate regular flexibility training, including both dynamic and static stretching after workouts.
  4. Balance training - Add exercises that improve proprioception and stability, such as single-leg exercises.
  5. Running mechanics - Work with coaches to optimize running form to reduce stress on the hamstrings.
  6. Progressive conditioning - Gradually increase training intensity, especially during pre-season or after time off.
  7. Recovery management - Allow adequate recovery time between intense training sessions and use techniques like foam rolling, massage, and proper hydration.
  8. Listen to your body - Pay attention to early warning signs like tightness or mild discomfort and address them before they become injuries.
  9. Proper nutrition - Ensure adequate protein intake and overall nutrition to support muscle health and recovery.
  10. Regular assessment - Consider working with trainers or physical therapists for regular biomechanical assessments to identify and address imbalances before they cause problems.

Glunn that's a pretty good outline.  the benefits of AI are upon us.

Get him healthy and play for a stretch and then trade him.  That's what I would do, but then again I'm not GM.  We can't have players like Buxton and Lewis consistently missing 1/3 - 1/2 of the season every year.  It's just not sustainable long term.

Getting him back before the deadline will be like making a trade

Right. Who needs an actual medical professional to diagnose problems without even seeing or knowing all the details of said patient

Given it gets something like 90 percent of things wrong, just do the opposite of what it says! All while consuming insane amounts of water and energy, and leaving people free to just hang out and do art with no income....
