You said you didn’t feel bad bc he makes a lot of money and I said I do because he makes more money than you or I but we don’t get death threats for bad days at work. Then you brought up attorneys get threats and I thought you were saying that you are an attorney. Sorry I may have taken a funny gummy 😂
stringer bell Verified Member Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 I think the three best teams going into the weekend were Buffalo, KC and Baltimore. Barring a big injury, the AFC team should be a big favorite. The better QBs are from the AFC, and I don’t think the Commanders or Eagles can win on a neutral field unless they get multiple turnovers (like the Bills did). Parfigliano 1

I'd swap out Burrow for Hurts, but otherwise you might have the list of the best QBs in the league, and I don't think that's a coincidence. You can't have one of the average QBs or even one of the good QBs, you have to keep trying until you have one of the elite QBs. I'm coming back to this a week late but I really think that Stafford and Purdy are the same guy, just one is ten years older than the other. Their stat lines are incredibly similar over the last three years as well, with Purdy arguably being a bit better, also going 4-2 in the playoffs, with one loss being when he got hurt right away. I think there is this feeling that elite QBs are a "know it when I see it" thing - and, in some cases, that could be true. But I think systems, coaching, and teammates are far more important than we acknowledge. I suspect Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams both look a lot different if they had switched teams on draft day.

It's not about the stats, it's about the improvisation. And not just to the prescribed audibles and checked downs. Some of these elite guys do improvisation with their legs, some of them do it with the play calls and their arms. We can't 'know' but I'm quite confident Stafford could turn off his headset and run the offense and be productive. And maybe it's not all about the QB, but partly about the team, because Shanahan wouldn't want an improvisational QB even if Purdy could be one. Purdy does exactly what Shanahan wants him to do; it's his game plan or you're walking home. Could be the same with Williams, he did look like he went off script a lot, but it's the Bears, I'm not sure there actually was a script.
