We really need one or two more RH bats to neutralize a LHP like this.

The Catwoman avatar has not failed us since the beginning of the ChiSox series. I hold out hope even yet.

I'm commenting on this one post, but the one it was in response to and the several ones in further response are all tied together: TD Comment Policy frowns on "you shouldn't have posted that" kinds of posts, and specifically John Bonnes's point #6 is "Comments about how you're sick of this topic or it's not newsworthy."

However, it's well taken that repeated posts driving home a single point in unrelated thread-after-thread are also undesirable - it would be well if people could try to not thread-jack. Once it happens, it would be well if others didn't react.

This being a game thread, it's all pretty much fine, but I thought I should point out the issues here.

Carnac: Thread moderation.

Ed: Thread moderation.

Carnac: [nods] Thread moderation.

Ed: Thread moderation.

Carnac: One of us seated here is redundant. I'm betting on the guy with the lower salary.

Ed: Hey-yo, o Wise One. Please open the envelope.

Carcac: What comes the next week after overdosing on threads Saturday night.

Well said com padre.

Maybe Catwoman can hit lefties?

Not a good inning I see. I am dead tired and going home in the hope that doing something different may lead to runs.

My intuition is that Melissa can show you a good time, if you're man enough for her. Come to think of it, Rosie probably is man enough for her too. Hey-yo!

Not sure I want either... Unless Melissa can magically split into Vera and Olivia.

Driving to Bismarck last night... To avoid storms I took some back roads... I hit this stretch where Frogs were crossing the road in mass... I've never seen anything like that...

Must have been 100 of them crossing from both sides. I must have got at least 20 with my car.

Why so many... Why both directions... And was something like that the inspiration for Frogger?

So seriously, what exactly are you doing in Bismark? Doesn't quite sound like an exciting place to go to, and on a Friday night, not exactly business.

I am aware of the superstitious acts some carry around this site to bring us a win.

Just to let you know I am supportive of this:

I have cut myself, in my forearm, a cartoon portrait of Lil' Orphan Annie - and I have ingested some Psilocybin mushrooms. Although the Twins are losing, I am most assured that I can help everyone. I am the priest of unexpected colors. I wish I could grab this fog that is surrounding my essence... I want to wear it as a jacket.

What were we talking about... oh yeah!

I prefer Charlie Chaplin over Buster Keaton - easily.

Mushrooms... Yeah... That explains it.

Toadstools grow close together because they don't need mushroom!

Well, at least it was a "Frogger" scenario. What if it were a Q-Bert scenario? How could explain that in written text?

Written Text?

Umm... I was driving to Bismarck last night and my car would only let me go diagonally... It was weird... I think I have to get my alignment check.

Also... Every Section of road I drove on... it would change color... I think it must have been the mushrooms.

Hey, on the post game radio broadcast, Kris Atterbury mentioned that Dozier set a record but I missed what it was. Did anyone hear what it was? A homer in 3 straight games?

A disappointing, but not totally unexpected, loss. The Indians (and Kazmir) are much better at home. For whatever reason, the offense was not good and sometimes that just happens. The Twins were starting four lefties against a guy who is much, much better against lefthanded hitters. Roenicke and Duensing let the game get away from the Twins. The Kipness single wasn't well-hit, but stuff like that happens.

That was my take on it too. I had high hopes for this series telling myself "sweep this and the Twins are second in the division and on the way to a potential third sweep in Miami". Well it was not to be....

Apparently not; the streak is over and I'm switching avatars. My 20-year old son wandered by and saw it and said I was being creepy, anyway. Catwoman will just have to ride the pine for a while.

/ and in case Chief wanders by later: yes, I know. Giggity.

Uhh, you did? Goldilocks/"just right" ... it was you who opened this can of lentil soup..... they do seem to go together....like steak and fries, beans and franks, sage and thyme.....

Using further metaphor deconstruction, re: your Gibson Pot Roast, are you now declaring that I too should plan to kill the fatted calf in anticipation of the celebratory feast to mark the return of the prodigal prospect come Sunday night?

Wow! That must have been a subconscious thing - I totally missed the Goldilocks connection, and I wrote the dang thing!

As far as the rest - sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.:)

And alas, I suppose that a pot roast is just a pot roast, too....
