Who had Robert Salah as the first to get fired?

Wow, so the defensive minded HC of one of the best defensive teams in the league gets fires even though it's Aaron Rodgers, the offense and Rodger's buddy OC who actually stink.

Geez, I wonder who's idea this was.

Yeah, I just saw this. Jets are a mess.

Most likely to go next -

1) Jags Pederson - I thought he'd be the first to go.
2) McCarthy in Dallas. I don't think he'll last the season if they don't start looking better.
3) Carolina's coach. No idea who he is and didn't feel like looking it up.

I agree Pederson could go early if they don't start winning. That owner has a history of firing coaches midseason and always seemingly very justifiably. It's worked for him in the past, going back to that old trick may seem like a smart move.

Although that same reason is why I think McCarthy is safe during the season. Seemed like Jason Garret was going to get fired mid-season every other year but he never was.

Carolina is a mess, and they've changed head coaches mid season two years in a row and three of the last five years and it hasn't worked at all. But I think at some point the owner will know all the blame will fall on him if he keeps doing it (which it should). The owner is a drunken idiot, but I'm leaning toward Dave Canales staying so he can be the scapegoat.

But my money is on Antonio Pierce in Las Vegas going first. Davis doesn't care about public perception and that team looks as dysfunctional as any. Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland too. I hope the Eagles keep treading downward too and they fire Nick Sirianni. Man, I really don't like that guy.

Wonder if Saleh is interested in opportunities this season? I’d bet over half the teams in the league would make up a title for him to get him in their building. Imagine Flores and Saleh cooking up a defensive game plan…

In the game thread I was saying Saleh wouldn't get a ride back stateside with the team.  Does that count?

This is Rodgers.  His buddy Hackett is the worst OC in the league and still there.

He said he's going to vacation, and I don't blame him.

Yeah I don’t blame him either. The paychecks are still clearing and he can relax on a beach for the next 4 months. He will be highly sought after when the season is over.

I'd guess there'd also be the issue of getting in a situation with another team's current defensive coordinator about who can flex the hardest.

Can I also say I despise having this early of a bye. And it started last week with teams on byes. NFL should limit them to like week 8-10 for all teams. Asking a team to play 4 games upfront and 13 on the back end is insane. Can’t believe the NFLPA allowed that

They can't have only three weeks. I have no issue with this bye.

Why couldn’t you? 10 teams for 2 weeks then 12. . Or even 2 weeks with 16 and 16. 2 is the fairest. And I remember they used to do the entire division on the same week. Every team in the north has it a different week. The packers don’t have theirs til November 10. Just odd for a league that tries to be fair with most things, they wouldn’t with this. 5 weeks difference is huge when the injuries start piling up. I’m sure the league wouldn’t want to have 2-3 light weeks of cour$e

My rankings of next to go:

1. Pederson

2. Sirianni

3. Stefanski

4. Dennis Allen

5. Antonio Pierce

Cannales in Carolina is a good offensive coordinator (like...one of the best in the league), I think he's safe for at least a year given the awful state of that roster.

It’s still amazing that Doug pederson and Nick Foles completely wiped the floor with us. It’s incomprehensible, really, given their career body of work.

Then again, they’d probably say the same about zimmer and keenum

I'm guessing the gambling kingpins would tell the NFL they aren't taking a three week decrease in profits. And the NFL is going to listen to the gambling kingpins.

Their upcoming schedule could save him. Browns, Giants, Bengals, Jaguars.

Though, if they lose those games, yeah, no way he survives.

“As far as any of the ridiculous allegations out there, I’m not going to spend more than one sentence in response to it, and that is I resent any of those accusations because they’re patently false,”

There you have it. Mr. "I've been immunized", ditch training camp with no explanation, Sandy-Hook-didn't-happen says he had NOTHING to do with his coach getting fired. Hard not to believe him with his track record.

Seattle down 13-0 at home against San Fran. They had a brief second there where everyone was believing their hype. Still could come back but this would be 3 straight losses

It's a game again all of a sudden.

I think Seattle is better than people thought before the season started, but I also think SF isn't as good as everyone expected. I wouldn't be surprised to see Arizona win this division.

Steve Largent is offended.

Man even the coach looks like he could be coaching in the 90s. Who was their coach then? Dennis Erickson I think
