I’m not surprised that no moves were made. Falvey has made it clear they are aiming ongoing competitive success and all deals are made with an eye toward the future. With so many extra playoff teams I think the trade deadline now is a poor way to improve your club as choices are fewer and prices are higher.

The time to address the obvious need for starting pitching was last off season. I don’t think it can be overstated how bad last offseason was for this franchise.

Two completely different issues.  I agree that their messaging has been really poor.  However, these articles and posters here don't suggest the Twins need to get better at marketing so that they can spend more.  They say the Twins don't spend more because they are unwilling to spend.  The vast majority of complaints here about spending don't complain the Twins need to market better so they can spend more.  They complain the Twins are cheap.

Let's say you and your brother work in sales for the same company.  You are the much better salesman and make $200K to his $100K.  You both spend $100K.  Is your brother cheap because he didn't make as much money as you.  Point being, I doubt anyone argues the TV deal and messaging did not hurt revenue.  That has nothing to do with if they are cheap or not.

Myself and others have talked about marketing several times. If you're a Ford lover. You've been buying them for 40 years. And then you buy 2 or 3 lemons. How much longer will you continue to buy them. No matter how good of a marketing team you have its going to be a hard sell to get you back. But then you come back. You really like this one. But the next year you get another lemon. That's the Twins. They dangle the carrot right over the trap door. It looks to me as if the Twins fan's are fed up and aren't showing up in droves. Put out a good product consistently or at least show the effort and the rewards will come. You reap what you sow.

There's always next year!

Yep. I mean I hope they make the playoffs but they are right on the edge. There is no guarantee they make it. If they miss the playoffs this year look out. The negative vibe towards ownership / FO will be over the top   I truly wonder if the Twins brass understands how their fan base (also known as their customers) feels about them.

Amen to this article.

Blaming the fans for the drop in season ticket sales is like blaming the ocean when a tsunami damages your home. It's a perspective that can't do you any good unless you plan on moving. Please don't do that.

But also: why not blame the sales department? As in, the non-baseball-ops side of things...who also have overseen the disastrous Bally snafu....am I noticing a pattern here?
