Jocko, the Pohlads are responsible for this mess and yes it's a mess. The way people consume media is changing. This billionaire organization apparently couldn't see this coming, or even if they did their approach has gotten us here. They chose short term cash from an undeniably dubious organization instead of making their product widely available even after promising just that. Now when their viewing audience has been reduced to a small fraction of is previous size, they act like victims in a battle they can't control. This is just bad and uninspiring business on many levels. It is compounded by an unbelievably tone-deaf sense of public relations.  The Pohlads handling of this situation coupled with a real chance to grow their business at a time of success and goodwill is just comical. Hence the well earned jokes.

I know it's just a game, but I've been watching this team as a kid. In fact, the only reason I have kept Xfinity is because of Bally's, and I have always had to top tier of channels. That said, yesterday, I canceled my cable altogether and dropped my internet from 1200mbps to 150mbps because I will not longer be streaming much. I don't blame the Twins, I don't blame Comcast/Xfinity, and I don't even blame Bally's - it's just a combination of not wanting to deal with the headache of watching games and spending so much time indoor ... maybe.

Anyhow, I'm still a Twins fan, but their entire approach to the 2024 season left a little to be desired and I'm getting the sinking suspicion that they may not be as fan-friendly as they want us to think they are. In the end, I'm saving about $175 per month and may spend more time enjoying a beautiful Minnesota summer. Sigh.

We could do a poll on the percentages of blame to go around but it would just reveal the sites  fundamental misunderstandings of what is happening. This site became great because we could push back against stupid narratives, now it creates them.

This billionaire organization is maybe 1% of what's going on.

The Dr Evil 1 billion is a laughably small part of this deal. Nevermind it's probably not more than $400m.

I think you left out my favorite word... "which"

I'll let you know if i figure out which does.

(rereading it, i'm definitely unsure whether the speaker thinks wokeness and drug use are

a) somehow connected

b) good

c) bad

d) are encouraged by being home with your family.

e) encouraged by being at target field.

f) encouraged by too much screentime being bad... the one thing apparently everyone knows. which i supposed does imply i shouldn't have read this article.?)

Well, i also don't know why you knew not of this site earlier, but by all means welcome aboard! And i'd like to thank screentime as a contributing factor to you finding us. Or at least i assume it was. But the winds and currents of the internet also help. Just don't get marooned here.
