Man im gonna feel awful for lions fans if they lost

They're building something. They already have an elite offense, although I don't know if they'll have salary cap and free agent issues. I think they'll be a lot better on defense next year and a threat to make the playoffs for a while.

I suppose the Packers will be a trendy pick to be good next year, as well. I do wonder if if seeing what Detroit and Green Bay are doing will effect what the Vikings do (Cousins & Hunter).

If history has taught us anything, never pencil the lions in for anything positive

They’ve gotta prove they can be sustainable for more than a year. Lions will always Lions it up.

Detroit's best hope is to score after the Rams score here without enough time for the Rams to score again.

Or not.

I'm just glad this is a good game. Three straight snoozers so far.

What a defensive stand by the lions. Thought for sure the rams were going ahead there

If I am the Rams, I go for it on 4th down, even with more than 10 yards to go.

Yep, with just one TO left. For sure

Credit Detroit (and Goff) for completing those two first down passes. Gutsy calls and good passes.

KOC would have run it up the middle with mattison 3 times for -2 yards

Vikes have some figuring things out to do.  GB and DET have passed them.  Cousins if kept will be coming off injury and old.  The junk we witnessed backing him up stinks.  O line needs help.  D needs help.  KOC coaching/game strategies are questionable and Cupcake (thanks Piranha) cant draft.

I think so too. Injuries and better luck could get the Vikings in the playoffs next year, but I don't think they have the framework of a champion, and all things being equal, they are the third best team in their division.

Anyone think KOC would have coached this game as well as either Campbell or McVay did?

I doubt it. Although I would have gone for it on 4th down last rams drive

Well, I think there could be some second guessing of the timeouts used by McVay in the second half. He also decided to kick a field goal that didn't give him the lead and then punted and didn't get the ball back. Hindsight says he should have gone another way.

That said, both coaches did a great job getting ready for the game. The Rams didn't take a motion or false start penalty and they certainly moved the ball. They held the Lions to three points in the second half, but they couldn't get the ball back in the last four plus minutes.

Detroit's defense is leaky, but they didn't allow a second half TD and ended up only allowing 23 points. Neither team had a turnover.

It was well played by both sides. It’s good watching to see teams come out prepared and then able to make adjustments in game. Cleveland and Dallas were the opposite

Yup. KOC runs the game plan like the Lions did for 3 1/2 quarters and then runs it like Mike Zimmer after that.

I think overall his offensive strategy is good, I think the players listen to him and he comes from a great system. But something changes late in the game and he's a completely different guy. His game management, specifically his late game management doesn't seem to match the rest of what he does.

I'm not sure if a coach can grow that 'foot on the throat' mentality.
