stringer bell Verified Member Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 There are a lot of veteran ex-Twins who remain unsigned as we approach a month until pitchers and catchers report. None of them seem to be of interest to the Twins. One possible exception to me is Aaron Hicks, given that the Yankees will be paying his salary. Here is a list--I might have missed someone: Eduardo Escobar, Josh Donaldson, Rich Hill, Gary Sanchez, Jonathan Schoop, Ehire Adrianza, Billy Hamilton, Hicks, Alex Columé, Liam Hendriks, CJ Cron, Fernando Abad, Robbie Grossman, Tommy Milone and Gio Urshela. Linus Verified Member Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 I think Hicks might fit nicely in the back up right handed hitting outfielder role. He’s probably stretched at center but should be decent in the corners. With our club he would rarely hit left handed which is where he is really bad. I would only do this if no other moves are planned and it’s for the minimum.
RpR Verified Member Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Hicks would be a hole in the outfield; his fielding dropped far worse than his bat. Linus 1

I'd definitely keep an eye on Aaron Hicks with the Yankees covering his salary – could be a steal. Also wondering why they're not looking at guys like Josh Donaldson and Liam Hendriks. Welcome to Twins Daily!

Josh Donaldson!!!!!!! No way - he is a clubhouse killer and a waste of money
