My understanding is that administrative leave is an official move under the domestic abuse, etc. agreement so the MLBPA or Franco can appeal it. Usually that means the league feels it can defend itself to some degree in their decision to place a player on leave. Generally not a good sign for the player, but we'll see what details come out as the investigation continues.
lecroy24fan Verified Member Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 Dug through the forum to find this thread but we have an update. Franco found guilty of sexual assault of a minor. He gets a 2 year suspended sentence, provided he meets the requirement of no attempting to contact a minor for sexual purposes. The mother of the child was found guilty of trafficking's a minor and gets 10 years in prison. She also accepted payments from Franco to stay quiet. It's a joke that the mom gets a much bigger sentence. And a bigger joke he gets no prison time. Parfigliano and Vanimal46 1 1

tony&rodney Verified Member Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 Problems in society. They are everywhere. Hard to fathom that an agent could not have been persuasive enough to convince a very young man (supposedly under 21 when he met the girl) to be aware of the world. Then again, our country elected a convicted felon guilty of sexual crimes. Best to just enjoy the baseball. Franco is young enough to learn hopefully and move forward in a manner where he avoids poor decisions. He can make a useful life for himself in the DR. From the comments by the tribunal it appears he escaped jail only because there was substantial evidence of entrapment and blackmail. Franco still should have used the head with brains to make better decisions. Ultimately he is responsible for his behavior. Most, but not all, people are.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 With a sexual assault of a minor conviction he can forget about obtaining any type of work visa to ply his trade in the USA
