I like stories that show our organization pays attention to the human side of things. On occasion I think they've goofed, but on this they got it right in how they are helping. I wish nothing but the best for JoLópez and hope he comes back as the pitcher we know he can be.

“I really appreciate what they’ve been doing with me and just got to take care,” López said. “They love me, so I got to do the stuff that they try to be good to me. I will do everything I can to stay in the game. I love it. I love this team. I love the staff. I love everybody here. For me, [I’ll] do a little bit of my effort every day to make things better. I will do that.”

Baseball aside, hope Lopez gets right and is in a good place mentally.

He seemed off all season in terms of his body language. I remember the last game he pitched in before he went on the IL - he caught a pop up and sprinted into the dug out and down the runway. Was very odd to me at the time.
