Those are some bad pitching matchups. Thankfully these games are "not played on paper".....I wonder how much longer people will say that, instead of something like "not run by computer simulation"?*

*though I'm sure it will be catchier than that.....

We miss Lester. So that's good.

Hope it helps as much as missing Sale did in the previous Sox series.

Chris Parmelee to the Two-Hole??? My suggested experiment looks like it's in effect, at least for one day......I assume this is just an off-day for Mauer.....? The timing of the day off seems out of the ordinary???

As per ESPN....

Mauer was held out of Friday's lineup against the Red Sox due to back stiffness, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Spin:

As a result, consider him day-to-day. Ryan Doumit is catching Friday for the Twins, while Chris Parmelee is moving up to the No. 2 spot in the Minnesota batting order.

News to me.

Wow...that came from out of no where. Too many games consecutively?....and too many behind the plate? Let the debate begin.....

On a positive note, it looks like Gardy let the "Cybermetric" guy spit out the revised batting order again.

I like that better... It's your line... You get full credit... So respectfully I ask your permission to use it.

Sox again! Looks like we are in last place.

Top Gun... Hang around for the game thread... You are a perfect candidate for our one sentence guy.

On Easter Sunday... I ate some Ham and a variety of salads and vegetables. Sat on the couch... Watched a little baseball and drove an hour to home. Got out of my car with a stiff back and I've never had a back problem in my life. It lasted a week.

News from around the league... Manny Machado is on a bit of a hot streak ain't he.

Also a fantasy question for the baseball heads. Do I consider dropping Jeremy Hellickson to open up a streaming SP spot... which I do need.

Joe was probably working on the kids' room on his off day and overdid it with the hammer or paintbrush. Different set of muscles than his day job.

As I stated on another thread, given Manny's minor league numbers, in the Twins organization he would be toiling away in New Britain right now.

List of ways that Joe could have hurt his back:

1. Ducking out of the way from a shoe thrown at him by an angry Iraqi during press conference.

2. Pulling a train with his teeth.

3. Announcing to the team... Jump on my back... I'll carry you and the team actually jumped on his back.

4. Heavy Japenese Masseuse walking on back and forgetting to take her stilettos off.

5. Trying out for the next season of Dancing with the Stars and trying to prove something while auditioning after being rejected during his audition for American Idol and The Voice.

6. After being rejected during his audition for the Voice. He was offered an audition as a judge and he spun around in his chair too quickly.

Maybe... I think Baltimore didn't want to call him up last year either... They had to because they were fighting for a playoff spot and Reynolds was struggling. He became their best 3B option.

I think the possibility of the playoffs and a hole forced their hand.

Do we know which side of his back is sore - left, right, bilateral?

lol... Bilateral... That's funny...

Seriously... The only thing I heard was it was the back part of his back.

I know I know... (Hangs head)... It was so out of character... I typically have the diet of the average Puma.
