B Richard Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Twins baserunners must be getting pretty homesick
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I'm gonna ask this again... Feel free to advise... Fantasy baseball... Should I drop Hellickson for a streaming SP spot that I need. Maddon let him throw 7.1 innings tonight and he gave up 7 runs.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Twins baserunners must be getting pretty homesick Vavra's Wave around arm is in Danger of Atrophy.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Mr. Vance Worley, ladies and gentlemen - it ain't pretty but somehow it works.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Mr. Vance Worley, ladies and gentlemen - it ain't pretty but somehow it works. And he'd best not come out for the seventh. Done well enough.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Ok, color me happily surprised with Worley's competitive heart tonight.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 And he'd best not come out for the seventh. Done well enough. No argument here.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Apples are good for you. Caramel is not. Caramel Apples?
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Apples are good for you. Caramel is not. Caramel Apples? That depends...do you eat them from the inside out or the outside in?

Should I drop Hellickson for a streaming SP spot that I need. Maddon let him throw 7.1 innings tonight and he gave up 7 runs. There are many variables here, but it depends on how many good pitchers are available on the waiver wire. It's not like Hellickson is tearing it up, so I'm pretty sure you can find suitable replacements on the waiver wire on a week-to-week basis. If you have ten or fewer teams, I don't see why not.
buckninetyone Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 carp, trout, salmon. joe clownfish is still in AA poughkeepsie
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Parm saved a run with the range. Only for the moment.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I wonder if anyone is going to argue that Worley should have been left in?
big dog Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 We aren't having any fun duensing to the music tonight. Tough luck, Vanimal.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Apples are good for you. Caramel is not. Caramel Apples? Do you pronounce it Car-mull, or kara-mel?
Reginald Maudling's Shin Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Would have been a DP had Florimon come up with it. Dare I say he should have?
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 The way this game started I thought I'd be switching to American Pickers by the 5th or 6th. Worley didn't look sharp and Buchholz did. I only hope Duensing can keep from making this worse. Need a K here.

If you have ten or fewer teams, I don't see why not. 12 teams... But you have Saves, Holds and IP categories and you must carry 15 pitchers exactly. It works best to carry 6 SP and stream a 7th to go after the IP... Leaving a combination of closers and set up guys for the holds and saves. Hellickson is #7 on my depth chart... I just think its risky to drop him with his past performance.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Do you pronounce it Car-mull, or kara-mel? Kara-Mel... Cuz... I'm classy.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Kara-Mel... Cuz... I'm classy. I always knew you were a dandy.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Would have been a DP had Florimon come up with it. Dare I say he should have? Yeah... It's plays like those that don't count as errors but are defensive examples of what winning teams do. Its a play that could have saved a run or led to a big inning for the Sox. That's the stuff baseball is made of.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Crisis averted... er.... postponed.

snepp Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Does Buchholtz run crisco through his hair? It worked for Sidney Ponson. It also had the side benefit of providing sustenance between innings should he become famished.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Would have been a DP had Florimon come up with it. Dare I say he should have? Tough play, but I have to admit I thought the same thing.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 It worked for Sidney Ponson. It also had the side benefit of providing sustenance between innings should he become famished. I burp-laughed. I did. Making pie crusts with a can of apple filling in his back pocket.
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Repeat: I hate playing that guy (Pedroia)!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Give me an idea of who you might have available to pick up. It would be a daily shopping trip to the waiver wire to rotate through guys to build up IP. I could grab someone like Feldman and then drop him and get someone else to throw Sunday like Diamond.
