Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 I'd rather have Gordon against a RH than any of three guys playing.... If AK is not even playing in the minors yet, I'm all for giving a rookie a chance. Julien or Wallner overa couple others..... Like, put Gallo in center and one of them at first?

I don't know that either of them have played much 1B and White is currently handling 1B for the Saints. Putting guys in spots they don't play a few game in the minors recently (.....Lewis) isn't a good idea. Now, you would probably say to start playing them at 1B. Seems like they would if Kirilloff isn't coming back before June. Maybe a good sign on Kirilloff?? For someone watching on TV - is Gordon struggling as much as it sounds on the radio and in the stats?

Astros starting pitcher has extreme reverse splits, so we are actually starting a lot of RH batters today due to that

Also it allows Gordon to pinch hit in a critical situation, late in the game, if a left-handed batter would be necessary as opposed to right-handed hitting Jeffers, or switch hitting Castro. It is a solid starting lineup. Go Twins.

tarheeltwinsfan Verified Member Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 How many of you TD contributors will actually be able to attend the opening day game today? I bet it is so exciting to be at Target today in person. I'll be in North Carolina, watching on my computer, wishing I was there.
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 KMSP on their news today, had a couple from Houston here for their first time. I was going to try but this work thing gets in the way as it usually does... Opening Days are a blast. The pandemic snapped my streak and I haven't been able to make it back for one, but they are fun. Even if it is cold.

Looks pretty consistent for several years into his career.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Starting lineup has 5 new guys/strangers to get to know, and 2 sophmore vets, and the two million dollar babies from the 2012 draft, and the face of the Twins, Buxton, and Correa, now. Things sure change fast these days. Only 4 of the 5 in the batting lineup were even here last year.
