Do you know for a fact the Miguel Sano tried out for the Dominican team and was cut?

Do you know for a fact that Miguel Sano thinks he doesn’t have to work for his place in life or professional baseball?

site published sources. While I care a lot about fans opinions, stating them as facts doesn’t fly.

Not only that, he comes from very humble beginnings, so this image people draw of him just doesn’t work for me

I think it IS fair to say that he has squandered his significant talent at this point (for whatever reason).

And I can stay with confidence that I have a morbid curiosity about where he ends up.

Are all the comments about the DR WBC team sarcastic? Cuz if not I'm very confused by the surprise about Sano not being on that roster for the WBC. Have people actually looked at their roster? Willy Adames, Rafael Devers, Wander Franco, Manny Machado, Ketel Marte, Jeremy Pena, and Jean Segura are amongst their infielders. He's not starting over any of them. Teoscar Hernandez, Eloy Jiminez, Julio Rodriguez, and Juan Soto are their outfielders. And Nelson Cruz is their listed DH who won't really DH cuz I just listed 11 guys better than him. Why would people think Sano would make that roster? I thought he'd get a major league deal when the offseason started, and was clearly wrong. But the idea that he'd make that roster is beyond even my idea about him getting a major league deal. That's going to be one of the best collection of 9 hitters the world has ever seen. He has no place on that team.

I don't think it is fair to say that he has squandered significant talent. While he has elite power, he's doesn't have the bat-to-ball skills needed to be a great hitter and he has never been a good defender. He swings and misses at too many balls in the strike zone and chases too many out of the zone. Add in plenty of injuries and he's not a ballplayer needed by many clubs. I don't think it is work ethic or being overweight. He never has developed as a hitter.
