From 1986 to 1988 I went to about 35 games each year. I was single and lived within bicycling distance of the dome so I went to almost every game that did not present a conflict with work or other activities. I would typically buy a very inexpensive ticket from one of the independent brokers who could be found on sidewalks near the dome. I knew how to get past the usher stationed at the top of the stairs from the upper deck to the lower. It was always quite easy to find an unoccupied seat near the infield. I usually kept book, partly because I enjoy the act of doing that and partly because it helps me see more of the nuances of the game. Those were fun seasons.

In ‘07 through ‘09 we did a flex 40 when my wife was in college, she got student tickets, and we sat in the LF nose bleeds $5 for my seat, $2 for hers. So 40 games for around $300 for 2 tickets. I taught her how to score, we had dollar dogs

we were broke, and a Twins game was cheaper than a movie and the gopher shuttle dropped us free a couple blocks away.

good times!

Great article. Number 12 is it. I go to about 30 games a year, probably 20-24 of those with my two kids. I love it. my kids ask why we dont "have a cabin" we go to during the summer like so many of their friends. We tell them that Target FIeld is our "cabin".

Thank you for a beautiful article.

I concur.  We (at least I) really appreciate you and all the other TD writers for you passion and enthusiasm for all things Twins.  While being stuck in South Georgia makes it a wee bit difficult to attend games at the Target, I do subscribe to MLB.com and wind up watching almost every single game during the course of the season.

Although that it is not nearly as cool as actually attending 57 games (so jealous, you suck ;)).

Count your blessings if you live less than 100 miles from Target Field. I have been a Senators/Twins fan for 70 years and I live 1,127.7 miles away from Target Field. But then I am only 754 miles from Hammond Stadium. By he way, I am going to get my reservations and game tickets this week for spring training. I cannot wait ! My wife and I have decided to stay a week this year. I hope to meet some of you at Ft. Myers this year.

"5. Target Field upped the fanfare this season. Late in the 2022 season, Target Field began dimming the lights during Jhoan Duran’s entrance song. To my knowledge, the Twins have never done that for a pitcher, especially one who is not a closer. Jorge Lopez also got the dimmed lights treatment with his horror movie-themed walkout. Walkout songs have always been a bit of a show (remember Fernando Rodney's electric entrance?), but they became their own spectacle this season due in part to the Mets’ Edwin Diaz’s viral walkout song "Narco." Pitcher entrances across the league became their show within the show this season, and the Twins kept pace. "

While I loved this (re)development, it in fact is not the first time, or the best they have done with, something like this for their closer ?. Apologies, but that title belongs to Jon Rauch and his entrance to Metallica's "Wherever I May Roam" during the inaugural 2010 season.  This video doesn't do it justice, but it was far more epic than Duran's also good one.

Now that is an entrance.

Super cool video- I'd never seen this before. I was barely aware of my surroundings in 2010?

Come on up for a game this year! ? I can only slightly promise there won't be catastrophic weather/ storms, lol

I can't wait for this season. I have tickets to 33 games, a vast majority of which were bought at the $4 no fee standing room only price. I also bought tickets during a few of the theme nights after they were announced. Wild/Vikings/Saints Jersey etc. GO TWINS! On pace to go 162-0 after sweeping the Royals.
