Payroll is 9.43% under budget

I aggressively went after resigning Carlos Correa to a multi year deal (7-9 years) at 33 per year with it being as short as I could get him to agree to and trying to coerce option years as much as possible to limit the back end of this deal.

I traded Max Kepler for a bag of balls and shopped Gio before either trading him for 2 bats and another bag of balls or just non-tendering him. I used the money saved to sign Willson Contreras to a 3-4 year deal (as short as possible) but went above his fading value to ensure I have more bat at the bottom of the line up. I then looked around for relievers and starters and realized this is Falvey and Levine! We make our own pitching. I resigned Fulmer and doubled down (or is this tripling down) on that Pitcher Pipe Line

What happened to Trevor Larnach? He is more of a lock for the OF than Kiriloff or Wallner. I think Wallner starts in AAA.

Overall, i wouldn't mind this, but Correa isn't coming back I'm afraid. I'd spend that $$ on Jose Abreu, Taylor Rogers, AJ Pollock and keeping Urshella. Arreaz to 2B and Polanco to SS at least until Royce comes back. DH can rotate between Miranda/Urshella, Abreu and of course Buxton.

Larnach had two neither here nor there partial seasons, he is a lock for nothing.

All this pipe dream dreaming for rookies who have not shown they are long term Major League players; I still remember all the blah, blah , blah about Badoo last year, good grief.

Oh, yes, Larnach! I forgot to mention why he is not on here. I'm predicting injured to start the season and beginning the year on the IL or rehabbing in AAA. You know, someone has to be injured so I flipped a coin on it being Larnach or Kiriloff to start the year.

Kiriloff's injury/recovery is much more serious than Larnach's. I'd say there is a very high chance Larnach is on the opening day roster.
