From the way Gladden describes it, Archer is getting by on grit, gumption and not much else. I’d be ok if they swapped roles too

Gladden on the mound and Archer in the booth?

Mediocre to lousy rookies, brilliant.?

Yes, but both need a chance to get consistent ABs to have a chance to develop. The more stagnation and bouncing that Larnach and also Kirilloff do between levels I think the worse it is for them after losing the Covid years. If the Twins want to wait until it’s clear if they will compete or not that’s fine. It would be nice to see 100-120 games in a consistent role for both players where we give them space and look to see if there is projectable improvement to build off of.

On the Martin front, I see no reason to be conservative with promoting him as a college graduate. It seems like there are questions about his power but I’d like to see the Twins add more hitters who take great ABs and get on base and are threats when they do. You can take a Polanco development approach and let Miller focus on his elite on base and batted ball skills and work with him in the offseason to develop a path forward that helps Miller generate more power if even gap power at least selectively when he identifies a pitch to drive.

The Twins need to hit on and get some players who are ahead of their development schedule. It’s been a while since they have been able to develop a good hitter.

That is what high Minors and Spring Training is for; blaming the Virus for any thing is bogus, they either have talent, or they do not, simple as that.

They should not have Arraez playing behind any batter, which is probably the whole team that is faster on the base paths than he is.

Back when the Twins scored the first run , they should have two runs the way it was but Arreaz is probably slower on the paths than La Tortuga was.

Buxton didn't get one out of zone high fastball from Bummer. He must not have been watching. Bummer for him. Great to see Buxton lay off the low and outside sliders.....

Where would one put a hitter in a lineup where said hitter wouldn't be behind someone?

Kepler now is hitting over .200!!!!!!

And a .455 obp against lefties. Not so bad. Just gotta keep him away from righties and he actually starts to look good.

Arraez has a sprint speed of 45 (5% below average). Willians has a sprint speed of 10. They are not close.

Gordon is leaning back with that upper cut swing today, that's not his game.

Morneau making excuses for not bunting there, seems like he's really digging to find a legitimate answer.
