I don't have a choice, when the Twins play the Sox, but this announcing team is good ... I used to mute the tv when Hawk was their announcer Harrelson's only quality was his ability to be economical with his vocab, .e.i., He gone, Count it, Sox win and so on.

Azviking101 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Correa has been given more days off than Sano this year. C’mon Rocco
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Nothing against Gordon as a player but I don't think I'll ever learn to like baseball pants worn above the knee.

Living in Chicago, there was no option, there still is no option ... but as I said, without Hawk, it's fine
Azviking101 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Hawk was your average angry “homer” fan who somehow was given the keys to the broadcasting booth for decades

He runs into a few, sure, but the kid gets eaten alive more times than not. So many fans desperately want him to be good, but since last June we just haven't seen much at all from him. Guy should be in St. Paul, time to look at Lewis and Miranda. While I'd love that, it ain't going to happen. Lewis will play SS in AAA until Correa is gone. He's the replacement and needs the ABs. Miranda tried LF last year a little in AAA and looked like a 3B/1B out there. In other words, not good. Larnach is who we got until Kirilloff is ready to play or they want to give Contreras a shot. Now's the itme to find out if the kid can hit. If not, he goes back down when Kirilloff is ready to play.

Kirilloff has so far been no better than Larnach; so many here seem to think the young rookies are going to be miracle cures. They are rookies who may or may not be even average in the Majors; as far a uniforms go, bring back the pin-stripes.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 What a throw Larnach! Needed to get out of that with less than 2 runs given up, and that's what we did. Not a great start by Archer. Similar to the last inning of the KC start. Didn't have a feel for the slider.
RpR Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Gordon must have given Larnach a tip on throwing home; the old bounce it home.
wabene Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Larnach must have opened his eyes right there.

We aren't expecting miracles; we're hoping against hope because the rookies are all we have. There ain't nobody else. Open to other ideas if you got 'em. Agree with you on the unis though.
LewFordLives Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 I wonder how patient the front office will be with Archer. I know it's early, but he hasn't had a half-way decent season since 2016.
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Archer looking like a bullpen guy. Maybe Winder takes his spot if he pitches well today and goes 5 or the last 6? At the very least, Archer drops off the rotation when Gray is back and we go to a 5 man after May 1 when the roster's cut down to 26.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Archer done for the day?
