Same thing happens in tennis with a RH forehand. If you open up early, the ball peels off to the right, which is fine if you aim down the middle, but terrible if you're trying to drive the ball down the line. I suppose tennis is good for a pitcher if it teaches them to see why a ball curves one way or the other. Tennis players hit hundreds of times more balls than baseball players throw or field. Because of tennis I could hit baseballs off the bounce when I was running fielding drills. Same thing at the plate. It's not that hard to hit a ball off the bounce, if you recognize the spin like a tennis player. We should hire John McEnroe as our pitching coach! He could also go out and yell at the umpires!!!!
Unwinder Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 I never noticed it before, but Jeffers looks kind of like Tom Hardy from the side.
Irishman Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Tomorrow the Twins need to go big on MLB draft. They need to focus on pitchers in the draft.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Have people shifted their mindset that the Tigers are better at baseball in 2021 than the Twins? Detroit’s had 2 above .500 months in a row. We’ve had 0.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Why are they 1-2-3 innings rather than 3-2-1?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 And Law has left the mound... Still losing 4-0.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Give up a hit, then pick 'em off. Can't complain too much about that.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Come on, let us string a few hits together!
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Kirilloff!!! With Cruz on first.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Simmons with an infield hit.

bighat Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Jeffers now batting .190. The guy got his break and did nothing with it. He's 24 years old and now has plenty of MLB at bats. Frankly I'll take Rortvedt over Jeffers at this point. When both are hitting under the Mendoza Line, I'll take the guy who can at least play a little defense. At this point both look to have very short MLB careers in front of them.
Unwinder Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Would be really good to see Nellie crush one too. Just an idea.

Yeah, i like watching Nick, but i can understand not putting him up against a bullpen game and asking him to adjust to a new pitcher every at bat.

Nick hasn't started a game this entire series, and didn't start one against KC either. He's getting like 1 start per week, max.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 And this is extra innings practice... Myabe if we do well, we don't have to play extras?
