D. Hocking Verified Member Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Have fewer spring training games been on the radio this year? It seems like every time I try to listen to one, it is not being broadcast - at least on WCCO.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 24, 2021 Author Posted March 24, 2021 At least we kept it close.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Opening Day starting lineup with Maeda pitching and Sanó at first? Or maybe Arraez or Cave gets the start in left field. Garver, Sanó, Arraez and Cave all traveled yesterday for the game with the Pirates and aren't starting today. Tampa's lineup looks to be pretty much made of major leaguers as well.
Sielk Verified Member Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 SIMBA! Good for more than just defense, I guess.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 Pineda’s ERA is above 10 now after the Rays jumped all over him. Not good, just hoping his stuff will be ready for the regular season.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 24, 2021 Author Posted March 24, 2021 I just post something, and it changes, Larnach plants one in the stands (in fair territory) so we are only down 1 now.

BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Ran-dy! Ran-dy! Ran-dy! I love how fast the guy works. He's a machine. No Gibby nibbling. I'm a believer. Good to see the bats coming alive. That was a no-doubter by Donaldson.
Sielk Verified Member Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Oh no. I really hope Rocco just took Garver out as a precautionary move and this doesn't turn out to be a problem...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 25, 2021 Author Posted March 25, 2021 Stop the presses. Boston gets a baserunner off of Dobnak. Via catcher's interference. And Garver comes out. Hope he's okay!
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Of course there are the standard disclaimers: 1) It's only spring training.2) This may or may not be the Red Sox starting lineup.3) Hitters may be working on a few things.4) Yada, yada Even so, Dobnak is on to something good right now. Here's hoping it carries through the year. I'm knocking on wood.
Sielk Verified Member Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 What happened to Garver? He got a foul tip on his hand. Looked like they were mainly examining his finger. Also looked like it hurt. Rocco pulled him from the game after that.
BeatTheRich Verified Member Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Unclear. Waiting to hear an update from the Red Sox announcers, but their focus is elsewhere. Mitch was either hit by a foul tip on the wrist (initial call), or the bat caught him. He was charged with catcher's interference, so that suggests the latter, but the announcers never said that. He sat on the ground for a couple minutes trying to flex his thumb, then was pulled as a precaution.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 With the exception of Lewis, who wasn't going to make the club anyway, the team has been extremely healthy, so you just knew somebody would get dinged. I hope it isn't serious with Garver.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 Is Dobnak the #4 now?I wanna say he is #68? May have to double check that...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 5th to last game of spring training. There is in fact more daytime that night time on our side of the world. Breathe in the fresh air, perhaps through a mask if you aren't alone. I like to think W. in our line up stands for "i know better than to jinx us", but i could be wrong. I look forward to seeing what Kyle does from the 2 hole. And i can't help thinking of the chamber of secrets when i see this short stop in the lineup. Braves of Atlanta0. Bryse Wilson (R ) P1.
