Minor forum changes, please read

We’ve received feedback that as TD has expanded its daily content, “Front Page:” threads are stymying community-created content by drowning out individual threads created by you users.

So, to combat this, we’ve made the following changes:

1. Front Page threads will no longer be moved into this forum. They will exist in a new forum above this one, “Twins Daily Front Page Articles”.

2. No users can create a thread in that forum but all can comment in existing threads.

3. The Twins forum content will now be 100% driven by the TD community with only user-generated threads in it.

I hope this change alleviates the concerns some of you have voiced recently and, as always, thanks for sharing your thoughts on how to improve TD.

Also, one small benefit of this change is that on the front page sidebar of the site on desktop, only user-created threads will now appear.

That means if you create a good thread, not only will it get increased visibility in the forums but also the front page of the site via the sidebar.

One very small complaint: the link to Other Baseball on the header is gone. This means having to make an extra click to get there. More wear and tear on the fingers, you know. (As I said, a very small complaint, but if there's a way to restore that it would be a good thing.)

Yeah, sorry. I had to make a decision there and Other Baseball lost.

I tried to remove Contact Us instead but the space difference wasn't enough and I won't lose Mark Community Read, as I believe it's a pretty widely used feature for regular users (myself included).

Like the change. I appreciate having Seth’s minor league writings mixed in. It really is the only place I need to stop now.

I hope you will consider placing on the front page and the front page some of the unique takes in blog from outside writers. I know I have overlooked those before the change. If that is already happening be more aggressive in adding those entries and encourage the blog writing.

I like this change and thank you for resolving this issue quickly. It was hard to feel like you have a platform when 4-5 new daily front page articles were mixed in with community posts...
