What is that, the 4th-5th game just this week that the bullpen has given away?

This is just getting absurd. It’s getting the point where either 1). Falvine is incompetent 2) Pohlad won’t OK the moves they want to make. Either way, what the F is the point anymore? Zero chance this franchise wins anything, ever.

Falvine knows it’s going to take more than a couple arms

You’re assuming Falvine knows anything. Which players have they brought in here? Marwin Gonzalez? What a world beater he is.

It was a good game, but the outcome was disappointing. The Twins hit 3 home runs and had the lead going into the 7th inning. They lost the lead in the top of the 7th, but then got it back in the bottom of the 7th. They lost the lead again in the top of the 9th, but couldn't score a run to tie it up with the bases loaded and one out. Not good. Garver needs to elevate the ball and get it out of the infield. Kepler was at 3rd base. Another option was to bunt him in. I'm not sure how good of a bunter Garver is though.

you know who I really dislike? Pronouns. Those things get me. They are not our friends. They confuse you because they never tell you who they are referring to.

sampleSize outsmart pronoun.

sampleSize already confused.

But sampleSize not let pronoun not sneak in post. Just to be sure.

I"m frustrated too, but the players and front office have 11 days to turn things around. If the Twins keep losing and fall out of a playoff spot and the front office sits on their hands at the deadline, things will only get more frustrating I'm sure. Based on Berrios' post on social media today, some of the players might be frustrated too. Not a good sign.

In all honesty, I never really liked the homer approach to begin with. Before this season I was totally against the power movement in baseball. I will admit that I was excited about the offense but there always was a hint of doubt in my mind because hitting homers all over the place is not really baseball. Baseball was always intended to be about steals, clutch hitting, walks, hbp, taking advantage of errors, exciting triples, being able to get the bunt down, and sacrifice flies. Now the game is hit the homer or nothing. I don't know what to say about tonight's game other than the fact that going for the homer is not what is needed. Hitting a double in a clutch situation is REAL Baseball and I would like to see the Twins start doing that.

He hit that a million miles an hour

....on the ground... with bases loaded and one out.

Double play. Game over.

That “rest” might pay off, several weeks from now. More likely than not that it does. Stay tuned.

Honest question, here. What has this team done in the last two months that could make a person feel that it’s “more likely than not” this team turns it around?

The team we all saw in April doesn’t exist anymore. That was fleeting whisp of electric smoke that dissipated into the atmosphere as quickly as it was created. This is not even a playoff caliber team since the calendar turned to June.

Guys, I’m a huge Twins fan. I love this team and want it to succeed to badly. But, it’s over. The run is over. We may sneak into the playoffs, but what difference does that make? We’re outclassed by at least one team in every division, including our own (and in the case of the AL East and West, were outclassed by two teams in each).

What an epic disappointment this has turned out to be. It actually may be better for everyone to stop caring, and empty the stadium at this point. That’s the only thing that may send a message to the FO/Pohlad. They’re just riding the wave of astronomical profits off of sellouts skyrocketing ratings on an anemic payroll.

I know emotions are running high after that one, but ive freaking had it with the Pohlads and any marionette they put in the GM chair. I’m heated. I’ve been screaming that we need bullpen help from the rooftops since this team had the best record in baseball. The FO knows this if some schmuck like me does. The intentions are clear at this point. I won’t give this team another dime at the gate all year, for better or worse.

I would really like to know what is the whole point of prospects if not to make the Major League team better? I know. I know. Prospects could turn out to be huge stars. But the vast majority of them never do. One thing is very certain about the Twins. We never, EVER take a big risk. When can you think of anything we have ever done that was enormously risky?

89.3 mph exit velocity. Not too bad, just needed a better launch angle to get the sacrifice fly.

routine 6-4-3. Couldn't have drawn it up any better.

Perhaps, I'm not sure it's as far away as some seem to think.

Truthfully, at the beginning of the year what did you think? I thought 80 to 90 wins. I really don't think anyone thought they were the best team in league. I personally thought they would have their hands full just getting into the playoffs. I'm just grateful they have been as fun (or frustrating) to watch as they have. last year they were already done by this time. But really a couple of pitchers isn't going to get it done.

That is not much more than average. What is average? It looked harder hit than average. Seems like you are correct here.

Average exit velocity in today's game was around 79-81 mph, so it was above average, but not by a lot. This is more my opinion than anything, but you know a ball is hit hard when it comes off of the bat faster than the pitch. The pitch was a 97.9 mph fastball and it came off of Garver's bat going 89.3 mph, so he definitely could have hit it harder and he definitely could have had a better launch angle. He also could have taken the pitch in order to try and get another one a bit higher in the zone etc.

This one will sting for a bit, 2 outs in the 9th and couldn't get it done, bases loaded in the 8th and 9th, couldn't get it done. Gotta still hope there are some arms coming, it's hard to imagine Falvine watching this and being ok with it. That said, their bats were every bit as responsible for the loss as the BP.  A healthy Rosario and Buxton would be a welcome addition about now.

You are absolutely right. Marvin and Garver should at least take more pitches to make pitchers work harder. It only took 3 pitches to get 3 outs from them in crucial situations.

THIS. 100x this.

Just circled back here basically to do a wellness check, lol. This (my comment right here right now) isn't about positive vs. negative, it's about enjoyment and maintaining sanity.

This is an imperfect team, always was. They're coming off a 78-win season. They have a rookie coach and rookie co-pitching coaches. Much of the roster is brand new. I'm not saying that means it's impossible to win, other teams have done it under those circumstances, but I do think it's a good time to check your expectations and assess whether or not they're realistic.

Why? If your expectations are getting in the way of your enjoyment, that's a problem. This is supposed to be fun.

The Twins are still in first place. There are 65 games left. I'm not going to say be positive, but I will say try to find a way to enjoy this. If a first-place team is making you miserable ... I dunno.
