Poppen back down after this game for another arm, or no?

Good first appearance by Popped! And only 26 pitches. I think he sticks around a couple of days. Who else would you bring up right now?

We were knocking Rodriguez around pretty good until Gibson's momentum killing, blow up inning.

Smeltzer, Krol, Moya, Reed, Stewart, Thorpe, Vasquez are all realistic possibilities.

On the bright side, it looks like the offense is determined to see that an extra run given up won't matter.

Cave took his sweet time getting there to back up for the carom, was the bigger problem, IMO. That's a tough read for a right fielder. If the ball doesn't quite reach the sandstone, it's catchable.

The problem is Magill probably burned out after his last two innings .
