Game Thread "Mike" Twins vs Red Sox 7:10 pm cdt 6/19/2019 ad

[David HK]

Probably. Smeltzer due to start on Friday in Toledo.

The Twins really want to mess up my Ohio vacation/

Sorry to break this to ya, but...

I think an Ohio vacation was your first mistake...

[David HK]

Well, switching over to catch the end of Cubs/Other Sox.

[glunn]

I love it when Astudillo kisses his bat then delivers a hit.

[wabene]

Donde estas los bombas?

[twinsnorth49]

Hope Sano can break out a bit against KC, for his game thread safety.

[glunn]

Poppen is beyond wild. Hopefully he does not kill a right handed batter.

[twinsnorth49]

If Gibson doesn't go 4 1/3rd the day after a 17 inning marathon, Rocco does not stick with the Poppen for 3 full.  No issue with it.

Check that....4 full from the Poppen.

C'est la vie.

[USAFChief]

Remember how former Yankee Hideki Matsui used to own the Twins? Well, this Japanese player the Red Sox have is getting to be just as bad. This "Ben Nintendo" guy.

And what kind of self respecting Japanese person go's by the name "Ben" anyway??

Just had to get that off my chest.

Fair, but this was a competitive game an inning or two ago.

Wonder what moves more, the ball or Poppen's head during his delivery?

Yeah Sano needs to prove himself for a bunch of people like myself who sit around and criticize big league hitters when they're in slumps

I consider the 6-3 groundout a break out.

Poppen still has velocity and seems to be grinding his way through this. Maybe he will become valuable in time.

[jimbo92107]

Boston was swinging away. They want this game to end, too. Poppen starting to realize where he is.

Perhaps but it's not like he was flush with options and no off day before 4 with KC.

Tough spot for an unheralded guy who started the season in AA. Let's say he was definitely asked to "learn the hard way", starting at 3 AM this morning.

He'll be back.

[Soft Tosser]

Feel sorry for the kid, but he actually did quite well considering

I hope that you are correct old friend.

Several things to get sorted.

Again, I agree, but it’s also not like every one of the Twins bullpen pitchers pitched all 17 innings last night and were all unavailable tonight.

Ok I’m done

[twinsnorth49]

One rough inning, didn't get much help from his outfield defense. He had some good stuff, could be useful eventually.

[glunn]

No chicken dinner tonight, but maybe Poppen's fiery baptism will pay off. His stuff looked good to me, except the curveball was wild.

I hate losing to the Red Sox, but not as much as losing to the Yankees.

[jz7233]

Indians won today.

[jimbo92107]

I blame myself. I wasn't bitching enough tonight.

The bus was running, you seen the price of diesel these days?

I tried complaining more, it didn't work oddly enough.

5 hits, 4 BBs, and 3 runs in 4 IP is "quite well?"

Sorry, but no.

He flashed some good stuff the first inning, but c'mon.

Even worse than a loss is the emeril air fryer infomercial that runs after the game on mlb extra innings

Seems like tuning out would be a reasonable option after the game?
