Game Thread "Mike" Twins vs Red Sox 7:10 pm cdt 6/19/2019 ad

[twinsnorth49]

That nasty slider has turned into a nasty hanger.

[glunn]

I am just tuning in. Looks like we need a double play here.

[jud6312]

Me thinks Poppen is gonna be the sacrificial lamb tonight. Sometimes it's not good to have the ability to go multiple innings.

[twinsnorth49]

Maybe one more double play?

He seems to have lost the feel for his double play ball.....

[twinssporto]

Sean Poppen was my Adopt-a-Prospect going into 2017!!

http://twinsdaily.com/topic/25517-sean-poppen-2017

He pitched against Vlad Jr., struck out Tim Tebow, and made a lot of throwing errors!

I don’t know who is more proud— me, or his parents

You did a fine job of raising him.

Good work!

[Danchat]

Ummm... I thought 2 innings was enough from Poppen, but I see we have no choice but to leave him out there now. Gibson really needed to go further into this one.

[PseudoSABR]

uh, "the public pool."

Reading is important for lawyers, no?

Although, I'm glad it was not, say, my parent's pool, I do believe there is not just one public pool, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

Might set a record for a rookie if he does.

Poor kid. Rocco is doing him dirty

It's the only reason he's here.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

I am not a fan of this.

This reminds me of Molitor letting Astudillo pitch to the Cubs last season.

[glunn]

Rocco has given up? I don't like burning a rookie or a game.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

You'll always have those 2 DPs, Sean.

three now

[Aggies7]

His double play stats are hall of fame like

[jimbo92107]

Poppen thinks this is as bad as it gets. He has not met Pie Face the Filthy Clown yet...

Ah, I feel for Poppen, he looked pretty dejected.

[Soft Tosser]

Still think Astudillo is gonna win this game for us tonight, just a gut feeling

[jokin]

Well, I can guarantee he at least tied a record for most DPs in his first 3 major league innings.

[Aggies7]

An ERA of 9 can be fixed pretty wuickly

Record now set? (one batter too late)

Stick around.... La Tortuga might be up for the 9th...

[twinsnorth49]

Walks in run, 3rd double play to end inning......as expected.

[AlwaysinModeration]

Ok, just need a quick 6-spot to get this kid a W.

[HawksNest]

Twins pitchers have walked 10 batters tonight.  Not going to win too many games with that many free passes

[jimbo92107]

Sano has two strike outs and a walk...and his game is going well compared to a couple other guys.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

You guys have public stuff, down there?

[David HK]

Had another meeting--

Looks like Rocco wrote this one off to save the BP, and let the kid take his lumps and learn.

I'm fine with that.

Except against Boston. I HATE BOSTON!!

[Aggies7]

Miguel comes back from 3-0 ahead to finish off a solid 0-13 series with 9 k’s. That’s ok because it wasn’t a high leverage situation

[twinsnorth49]

If Gibson doesn't go 4 1/3rd the day after a 17 inning marathon, Rocco does not stick with the Poppen for 3 full.  No issue with it.

[AlwaysinModeration]

He seems to have lost the feel for his double play ball.....

Oh ye of little faith.
