Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Without a doubt it's a bigger concern because it's Byron "Mr Glass" Buxton... but I think he might be a little tougher with all that extra bulk this season. Are his wrists extra bulky too?
SomeGuy Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 He has already been taking batting practice since it happened. Baldelli called him 90% and said Buxton wanted to play through it. Seems like this FO doesn't take unnecessary risks and would rather see him at 100%. Can't be too serious and pretty low on the worrisome meter.

After that spectacular wall crash a few weeks ago, I fully expected him to go on the IL until 2022... but he was back in the lineup a day or two later. That wall hit was bad.Bradley gave kind of a clinic last night on dealing with the wall with the game on the line, I thought. I can't tell you what exactly he does differently than Buxton, but Buxton needs to study that catch because he's capable of discerning even if I'm not.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Hard to judge any of these injuries. Cruz wanted to play through his but the IL stint was probably good for him. I'm wondering if being IL cautious is a new philosophy or if it's all due to the offensive depth the team suddenly has. I hope it's a new philosophy and they just continue hoarding the depth to support the action.

Is the guy part bird or something?
