TOO EARLY FOR MAGIC NUMBER?

Yes. Of course. But the thought still lingers.

Even if the Twins play .500 ball the rest of the season, it will be one fine season.

The key, as we see, is to dominate series. There is still a lot of ball to be played, but watching soldout crowds cheer and have fun actually staying in the stands to watch the game is...simply...wonderful.

It is what baseball is all about. Sun, fan experience, home runs. The new Boys of Summer shine!

Cleveland showed this winter that they had no plans on building a winner. Not sure if they thought they had enough to win another division already or they didn't think MN would be a threat.

My only problem this winter would have been addressing the bullpen a little more aggressively than they did. Now that they are on top of the AL Central they will feel forced to trade away prospects to bolster the pen. I would have wished they would have just signed them over having to give up prospects now for help.

Superstition does not apply to magic numbers because they are the same whether people pay attention to them or not. It's at 101 to clinch the division and 109 to clinch best record in the AL.

The Twins could lose 19 straight series and still be above .500.

They could have a losing record the entire rest of the season and still win 90 games.

They could lose 9 straight series, and the Indians could win 9 straight series, and the Twins would still be ahead of the Indians.

According to Fangraphs, the Twins have a higher chance of winning the World Series (7.2%) than than they do of not making the playoffs (5%).

Just phenomenal.

Unless something changes in the division, the Twins will have the easiest August and September in all of baseball.

Before the season started it was all about staying ahead of Cleveland until August. The Twins are doing a lot to make that happen.

We're back to the big question now ... can this team win in the playoffs? I don't know yet. This looks like another down year for the AL, which means most of the teams aren't worth a darn ... but the teams that make the playoffs will be a different story. Cleveland learned this a couple of years ago by going on a long winning streak to close out the year only to fall in the playoffs.

Yes, if the bullpen is strengthened with a Mariano Rivera-type reliever. I know there is only 1 "Mo"., however there is one free agent reliever available who might possibly help. Hint: It is not the one who shoots arrows.
