Frankie Frisch. What a joke of a manager. Finished first once in 16 seasons, back when you only needed to beat 7 other teams. How he ever got into the Hall Of Fame, I can't imagine.

the Fordham Flash was awesome. Player manager that won the Series with cards!

Wikipedia says he benefitted from the selection committee only considering players who retired after 1921.

Kidding aside, modern metrics look on his HoF credentials as a player pretty favorably.

Gardenhire brought the franchise to a .500 overall record. Now, of course, the franchise is a couple hundred games in the hole again. And it was his teams -- not the Oakland A's -- who were plastered all over mass media year after year for being the small market team that could compete.

Kelly helped the team win two world series and he seemed masterful at knowing where to put position players and when to bring in certain pitchers. Kelly is a no BS guy and he left when the BS became intolerable. (Fold the team? Please...)

Both of them are big parts of the Twins story.

He went to 8 World Series as a player which is the most for a player who didn't play for the Yankees.

Cool. I saw that the Panda tied him for number of multihit post season games.

It would have been weirdly funny if the Hall of Fame only let Yankees in. It would minimize travel expenses...
