I've disliked the Royals since the early 80's when we were in KC right after getting married and got snowed out (yes, snowed out in KC) for the opener. They gave us free tickets to the NBA Kings/Jazz game that night and their arena was down across the railroad tracks by the stockyards, which smelled like . . . stockyards. It was the strangest pro sporting event I've ever attended; the first and last NBA game we went to.

Had to drive home at night in a driving blizzard. Followed a huge snow plow for all of Iowa. He pulled over for gas, we pulled over. He stopped to eat, we stopped to eat. Felt like the only 2 vehicles on the road all night. It took so long that when we finally got home (Minneapolis), I sat down and my arms and hands automatically raised up to driving position. I've not stopped in KC since.

Go Twins.

From Royals Review blog

It’s hard to find a team more plain, uninteresting, and irrelevant as the Minnesota Twins. You know when you’re trying to name all 30 baseball teams and you’re stuck on 29? That team you can’t remember is the Twins. Bloop hits? That’s so Twins. Changing from one right-handed reliever to another right-handed reliever with two outs and nobody on in the ninth? That’s pretty, pretty Twins. They’re 4-1 on the season, but nobody actually remembers anything they’ve done thus far. So there’s that.

It must be even harder when this plain, uninteresting and irrelevant team sweeps you at home with two late comeback victories...

Royals Review has a writer that has trouble naming all 30 MLB teams??

LOLOLOLOLOL

Worse than that.   Apparently has trouble naming all the 5 teams in his own division.    Wouldn't you start with that?

News Flash: The Twins aren't as well known as the coastal teams or the Chicago teams.

I know, this is shocking to learn. Thank goodness we have a KC fan to help us realize this for the first time.

I bet they even use cloth napkins to blot the barbecue stains off of their overalls.

We bet you don't.

Yeah, I get it. Those had to be painful losses which make the vitriol flow like wine.  :D

"Kansas City fan! Give me your tears! If you will not give them to me, I will take them from you!"

I got a chuckle out of this.  "Irrelevant"....I kind of feel like we've been called a basket of deplorables!

KC is sort of the team that is going to rely on bloopers and bleeders this year.  Yeah, they thumped us at their house last year, but both teams have changed a lot in the offseason.  Well, I guess the important thing isn't whether or not someone knows who the Twins are now...it's whether or not they know who we are in October.  Go Twins!

The first team I followed in any way shape or form after the Twins was the Royals.

Granted, I stopped paying attention to the Royals decades ago, as did everyone else outside of Kansas or Missouri, probably. But even still -- I would be happy if the AL Central was always a battle between the Royals and the Twins.
