Call me old school (yes, please call me old school!) but whenever I read about baseball players who are "gamers", that is they spend countless hours playing computer games, or online games, I can't help but groan. Too bad. I really liked the guy until I read about his gaming habits.

Personally, I'd take gaming over DJ Heybeef.

 

And while I don't get it, is it any worse that these young guys spend their time off playing video games, rather than doing what the guys in the '80s and '90s (regardless of sport) did?

 

I'd rather have a guy spend his nights playing Fortnite than driving his sports car into the Mankato Hardees.

 

But maybe that's just me.

What specifically bothers you about people having gaming as a hobby, as opposed to other hobbies that you view as more acceptable?

I'm not trying to be confrontational, I'm just honestly curious because I often hear a sentiment similar to yours and don't understand it.
