Badsmerf Verified Member Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Playoffs or bust. Eagles likely beat Redskins, so Vikings have to win to get in. A loss by Seattle would give them the 5th seed, and a trip to Dallas instead of Chicago. Big game for Zimmer, if the Vikings lose he might be on the hot seat in 2019.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 I'm getting deja vu from 2012. Win and in, and all indications are the Vikings having to play the same opponent next week. The Vikes defense is dominant at home. Best in the league in most every defensive category that matters. The Rams are probably going to steam roll the 49ers so the Bears will start resting their players by the 2nd half I would imagine.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 One thing I haven't heard discussed, that I'd be worried about, is possible retribution against Coisins. The Vikings knocked their QB out for a few games with a dirty hit by Harrison Smith. I'd be at least a little worried they might take some cheap shots in return, especially if the game becomes meaningless for them.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Not Vikings related, but Teddy lost all of his momentum as the hot QB free agent today. Him and the Saints are getting torched by an unknown QB and the Panthers who had nothing to play for.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Kendricks and Rhodes inactive. Other than that, full steam ahead!
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 welpSigh.... Yep. Been a while since the Vikings had a good start to a game.
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Man, I'm like a broken record here but we need an offensive line.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Man, I'm like a broken record here but we need an offensive line.We do. But I don't know what that was. No pressure, Cousins tucks and runs into the line. Almost looked like a QB draw.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Man, I'm like a broken record here but we need an offensive line.I can't wait to replace both of these guards. Compton let him through untouched.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Bears tacklers are treating Vikings ball carriers in roughly the same way a dog treats a rag doll when no one's home. Bears offense is moving, too. The Bears don't look like they want to let up, even as the Rams jump out to an early 59-0 lead. Might be a long day if somebody doesn't make a big unexpected play to turn this around.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Bears go for it?
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 One team wants it so far. It's not the Vikings.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Somebody explain to me why referees do that?
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Somebody explain to me why referees do that? The offense has to give the defense time to substitute. It's been a rule for several years.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 One team wants it so far. It's not the Vikings.Exactly how I’d want the Bears to play this week going into next week, if I was a Bears fan.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 The offense has to give the defense time to substitute. It's been a rule for several years.Vikings weren’t subbing, but he stood over the ball until about 3 sec anyway.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Both teams going backwards. Awful Bears punt returner decision might be the play to spark something.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Vikings weren’t subbing, but he stood over the ball until about 3 sec anyway. They still have to give them time, even if the defense chooses not to. The ref did exactly what he's supposed to do.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 I don't understand groaning about that call. He clearly had time to stop himself, knew the ball was already thrown, and hit him anyway. I never understood why that was ever allowed, and I'm glad they are taking it out of the game.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 I'd fire Spielman at this point. He has been unable to fix the OL, and spent to the cap to year. I'd probably fire Zimmer also. This team is missing something fundamental, that's clear.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 23 minutes into the game, and zero first downs for the Vikings.Pathetic.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Oh boy. I think Hill has a future in this league, but my oh my he got taken to school on that play.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 1 first down. $84 million QB. 2 of the best WRs in the league and supposedly an explosive RB.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 I hope they get booed off the field
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 I hope they score a touchdown
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Author Posted December 30, 2018 Thielen and cousins frustrated. This game isn't over. Keep the score down by 10 going into half.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Luckily for the Vikings, the Rams are blowing out the 49ers. I'm guessing we'll see backups in the second half. I don't think they have a chance if the Bears keep trying.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted December 30, 2018 Author Posted December 30, 2018 Bears get complacent and they'll regret it. If course, if the Vikings can't stop the run nothing else matters.
