More bad clock management.
Zimmer lets 16 seconds run off the clock after the play, then calls time out.

 

Looks like they gave him that time back.

 

Compton is so awful.  If Elflein can play guard, it's time to try that.  Put Jones back in and get him out.

This looked like a loss pre-season to travel to the West Coast on a short week, so the loss itself isn't a problem IMO.

 

How they lost it, with the defense looking this bad....that's a problem.

I think the defense is the much bigger problem at this point. Offense still put up a lot of points because cousins, diggs, theilen are deadly. Defense can't stop anybody.

 

They are getting beat on big plays, which is different than getting picked apart imo. They scheme isn't working, they need to disguise what they're doing better, or change what they're doing. Barr shouldn't cover a wr they rest of the year, and now that he has been so exposed, everyone is going to try to isolate him.

In general, LBs should never be covering WRs. Barr or anyone.

Why does Zimmer continue to let it happen? How many times do we need to see him get beat with an outstretched hand before is enough?

Compton needs to sit. Witzman started 13 games for the Chiefs last year and he's been on the team for 3 weeks now. Isadora can at least run block. Eflein can move to LG and Jones can start at Center. Either would be a potential upgrade and with a longer break, now is the time to make the move.

A tackling dummy is better than Compton right now. He needs to go.

Just to refresh everyone's memory, Zimmer passed on Donald to draft Barr in his first draft with the Vikings. And I don't think there's any question Zimmer made that pick.

Mitch Trubisky throws 5 TD's, and rushes for 50 yards in the first half. That's a scary team if Trubisky is for real.

 

And, Packers destroying Buffalo.

So much for the, "Bills are a better team than they showed weeks 1 & 2" argument that so many current and former Vikings are going with.

I won't argue either of those points...but my god is the NFL topsy turvy from week to week.

Packers shut out a team the steam rolled the Vikings defense. I saw people touting a moral victory in the second half only allowing 10 points to the Rams. Vikings better get this ship heading in the right direction.

I'm not ready to say Trubisky is for real. I am ready to say Tampa Bay has crashed to Earth... Their defense falls apart every season.

 

If Trubisky is for real, the Bears will win the division. That defense is scary good with Mack.

 

The Bears haven't gotten the running game going however, so that needs to happen for them to keep up this pace later in the season. As a fantasy football player with Jordan Howard on my team there is not a more disappointing RB going right now than him.

The Everson Griffen thing has really shell-shocked this team, especially over that first weekend. Last week they merely missed his presence, but against the Rams they were not themselves.

 

In any case, predictions had the Vikings as Super Bowl favorites and now predictions have them as long shots to even make the playoffs, and it's only been four weeks.

 

Seems weird but this IS the Vikings after all. The surest way to make them lose is to mark them as impossible-to-beat favorites.
