Miggy Cabrera and David Price are nearly impossible to trade. Unless Detroit and Boston eat tens of millions of dollars. 

 

Schwarber absolutely needs to go to an AL team so he can DH full-time. 

 

I would imagine Atlanta needs to be blown away by an Inciarte offer since he's just starting a team friendly contract. 

 

I wouldn't touch Matt Harvey with a 25 foot pole until he shows his old stuff on the mound. 

 

McCutchen will most likely be the hottest rental bat for sale in July 2018.

Longeroia has long been one of my favorite non-Twins and his salary isn't horrible. if he's just good, it's worth it. But aging in baseball recently has been pretty bad. I probably don't want to bet on him over the rest of that contract, as light as it is.

If you think Rowson can fine tune Schwarber's approach at the plate it would make some sense to get him at a reasonable cost.

Didn't realize how crazy this guy's contract is till I just looked it up, at age 40 he will pull in a cool $32 million, what is the chance he is a superstar then?  Especially since he struggled last year....as we say in MN, "Uf da"

I agree.   Longoria would look pretty good over at 3rd.   Another right handed bat with Sano moving to DH and backup 3rd and 1st.     Sign Cobb and one good reliever and the off season grade would be immediately A- at least in my book.

I think I would try to sign Frazier to a 2 year contract first and get the benefits without having a long contract and having to give up something. TB won't be able to give a player like Longoria away for free for the same reasons the Twins couldn't have done the same with Mauer.

 

But getting a good 3B is a moderately interesting idea this offseason with the uncertainty surrounding Sano.

I have always been a Cabrera fan.  Detroit would have to eat a ton of contract but they might.  He makes no sense on a rebuilding team.
