Buck was making it sound as though he'd be coming out after the sixth, regardless. I have no real rooting interest but was kind of glad Springer hit the home run just to avoid that particular controversy.

I may have misheard, but at the end of maybe the fourth inning, I thought Jack Buck closed by saying, "we have a pitchers' duel, and it's a good one". I suppose there have been bad pitchers' duels, but it still sounded dumb.

Forgot to point out that Forsythe is playing third. Our third baseman was not on the trade block this past offseason.

Game 1 starts tonight. They're forecasting that it will be over 95 degrees at first pitch. Which would be the hottest temperature at the start of a game since the 2001 WS in Phoenix, AZ. 

The Dodgers and Astros are the first 100 win teams to meet in the World Series since 1970. 

 

Kershaw v. Keuchel tonight. I predict both pitchers will see the 6th inning at least. 

Tonight, game 5, I'm watching what happens when managers have been overly reliant on their bullpens.

 

Not pretty, at all and I think it points out how dangerous short starts are in a short series.

Maybe Liriano comes on to close for the Astros??

I don't think Morrow is the problem. I think the fact he's pitched, what, 5 pressure packed games in a row is.

 

If anything, a change of scenery might just be the ticket.

Not impressed with Deverinski, though. Guy struts around on the mound while giving up multiple hits and allowing the game to be tied.

I assume it was a good, quick, clean game since it was 4-0 with Kershaw pitching when I went to bed.

My takeaways from the Series so far: these are state of the art offenses, and only the very best pitchers can hold them off for very long at a time. If the present Twins pitching staff were by some miracle taking part here, it would be double-digit runs against them every game. And our offense, while good, is not quite yet ready to inflict the same damage on other teams.
