Below, you will be able to find out which starting pitchers and relief pitchers have performed the best to this point in the minor league season. Obviously injuries can effect a player's numbers, but when players are promoted to a new level, it is a new challenge. They face better hitters, so if they are able to maintain a high level of success, they are more and more intriguing.

 

There are some very familiar names in these rankings, but there are also a lot of Twins minor league pitchers that do not get talked about as much. They deserve to be recognized. Feel free to discuss, and ask as many questions as you would like.Find out which pitchers have been leading the way for their team(s) to this point in the season. There are about seven weeks left of the minor league seasons.

Is there a reason Nick Anderson doesnt get talked about more? He isn't one of the big name prospects, but he is certainly putting up great numbers.

Looks to me like both Romero and Gonsalves belong in Rochester (along with Felix Jorge). I don't get why the Twins want to drag their feet in the mud with promoting their best pitching prospects. Especially with Romero starting to get close to his "innings limit". Hasn't anyone noticed Romero getting stronger and better as the season wears on? Why not reward his success so he is in a better position to really make an impact for the Twins in 2018. As far as Gonsalves, I am just sick of the over conservative crap with "waiting" to promote him. Just get it over with, as of now I'd wager now pretty much 100% healthy he's a better pitcher than Nick Turley...

Wow. The names not there. No Kohl Stewart. No Reed, Burdi, Chargois, Cederoth. Tyler Jay, Keeton Steele, Ryan Eades, Zach Jones, Madison Boer, Hudson Boyd, Corey Williams.

How it is NOT always the top draft picks that will pan out in the end.

 

Or combined with injuries to many, some mistakes were made in the draft.

 

Especially when Nik Turley is your big leader!

Okay I am confused - Nik Turley leads the Twins MiLB prospects in all those critical areas, but in MLB he stunk.  What happened?  What am I missing?  I keep thinking Gonsalves and Romero need to make the move, but they do not rate with Turley.  Someone needs to explain to this old guy what is going on and what these ratings mean.

We should have an article on what "old" means. Ha! 27 feels really young to me. 

 

Turley has good stuff, really good stuff. He struckout a lot of AA hitters, then struck out a lot of AAA hitters. He had 3 bad starts, but that doesn't mean he's bad. Personally, I think he can be a really good reliever. 

 

And, what "ratings" are you talking about? Stat Leaders have little to do with prospect rankings.

And what are your thoughts on Anthony McIver? Finally getting noticed and now a starter. Good command of pitches and a great change up. Just needs more time.
