Kam Mickolio called up to AAA Rochester

Boy they are really reaching deep into the trash bin for these relievers.  If I didn't know any better it was Ryan dumpster diving again.

I think that's the big question - is this the FO's doing or are they influenced by Molitor's preference for veteran relievers and seeming unwillingness to trust younger bullpen guys? We should also consider that the FO may simply think our minor-league l relievers aren't good enough to pitch at the MLB level. I hope that isn't the case but I guess one never knows since they're really not saying anything.

I think it's a little bit of column A, a little bit of column B. Molly has always shown a preference for proven veterans. Even if there's no real difference between the veteran's performance and what a prospect could do.

The FO is also showing a very conservative approach so far by not moving any prospects up a level so far. I'd like to think some things will change soon.

I think is fairly obvious that the new management doesn't think as highly of the Twins MiLB RP's.

What is obvious to me is that the "new" management is the "old" management.

This is an evaluation season and Falvey and Levine are observing the actions of the Farm director, Player Development head, etc.

I don't think that the "new" management has arrived yet.   I expect more and bigger changes during the off-season.

Not much new with the Twins management...

I don't think anyone is right or wrong... I can't say I'm thrilled with their conservative approach moving prospects through the system this season.

Well, for an org that we all think had issues developing prospects, perhaps they are making the guys they care about work on some of the things that the previous administration tended to ignore. I think there's some merit there.  We know the Twins weren't good at developing pitchers.  Now all of a sudden we want the front office to shelve whatever they put in place and start promoting guys right and left.  I'm not sure this is one we can have both ways.

I suggested that this off season, more along the lines with the starters.

But then Jason Wheeler got a 2 inning audition before he got DFA'd. I was never high on Wheeler, but he got kicked to the curb over all of these ineffective vets.

If Chargois, Melotakis, Busenitz, Bard and the other untested young guys have things to work on that the previous regime failed to teach, my mind would be put at much greater ease if they'd just say that.
