Is there anything that suggests a ST record is an indicator of the regular season record? Anything? Please?

Hooray. Much rejoicing, etc.

I so suggest. But it is fallible.

Only bet the outhouse.

It might say something about Rochester's season instead. Perhaps we will find out today.

Still, it was better than the alternative.

They fooled us last year with a strong spring (19-11) and looked like a completely different team once the season started.

In a way they did us a favor last year. Within 2 weeks we knew the 19-11 ST was a mirage, allowing us to spend the summer doing other things. :o

The 0-16 Detroit Lions went 4-0 in the preseason... the Cubs went 11-19 in Spring Training last year... I'm sure there's more examples out there. Their record means nothing.

A weak correlation between spring and regular season records exists.

Regression wasn't the right way to plot that graph. All one needs to do is count the data in the top right quadrant + the bottom left quadrant, then compare with the other two quadrants.

Just eyeballing, at least with this data set, it looks like there is a strong correlation.

Baseball bloggers should stay away from math and just lift numbers off fangraphs. That's what they truly enjoy anyway.

After last year, I'm going with a negative correlation. Brilliant Spring Training? Headed for a fall. Average Spring Training? Could go either way. Bad Spring Training? Look out baseball world!

So, the Twins ST record indicates somewhere between a fall and average season.

I have now justified my sticking with the Twins winning 71 games.
