Remakes and Other Such Nonsense

So my soon-to-be 7-year-old saw a preview for a new Transformers movie and got excited. As an 80's kid I loved Transformers, and I'm thrilled my son is starting to transition to Marvel Movies and Star Wars so I can see something other than cartoons in the theater.

 

But ugh, Michael Bay.....So torn about this development.

Nothing better than sharing things with kids, even things from Bay.

I'd prefer to just stick with The Rock.

 

Though to my recollection that one is much more violent and profane than his robots + explosions movies. Though to be fair I haven't actually seen any of the new Transformers movies except for perhaps 10 minutes on cable. They seem pretty PG-13. Maybe they're good and Bay just gets a bad rap, but the previews for any of his movies from the past 20 years always leaves me with the sense that he only deals in schlock and gimmickry.

Oh no, they aren't good. but still, doing stuff with your kids is the best.

In another episode of completely unneeded sequels. "Top Gun 2" will start filming soon.
