Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted December 6, 2016 Author Posted December 6, 2016 Wade Davis certainly could be on the move. There is a rumor that the Royals are very interested in Jorge Soler. Baseball Bat 1
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 There's a good chance that will happen but it's promising the Dodgers are in the conversation, as they're the best fit for the trade. They need Dozier and they have what the Twins need. Was more my pessimism as a Minnesota fan speaking than anything. Brock Beauchamp 1

nytwinsfan Provisional Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 No way do I wanna see us trade for Sale. Why would we every give up our top young players/prospects for a pitcher to have for 2 years, then watch walk away. The White Sox would be asking for a huge haul in return too. Also if the Yankee report is true that is very good news. The Yankees do have a lot of young players we could be interested in. I'd assume Gary Sanchez would be untouchable but hopefully we could get a package headlined by Severino. I also like Justus Sheffield, Domingo Acevedo, Dillon Tate, Judge, Torres, Mateo, and Frazier. So the Yankees got prospects to deal. A bidding war between the Dodgers and Yankees would be a dream situation. So hopefully the Yankees do have interest in Dozier.Sale has 3 years of control, I'm pretty sure. But otherwise agreed.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 If the Nats are indeed willing to trade Lucas Giolito and Victor Robles for Chris Sale, what is the Twins' equivalent? I think it would be Buxton and Berrios. Yikes. That would be steep price to pay. glunn 1

It's easier when you still have have Harper, Scherzer, Strasburg, Turner, et al. They have to be thinking now is their time. Edited December 6, 2016 by Physics Guy glunn 1

Sounds like Dayton Moore isn't doing a very good job of reading the closer market. I hope he does trade one of the AL's best relievers to the NL for a fourth OF type who is a poor defender with no speed. Did Moore already forget what got his team to the top? I already thought KCs nice little run was ending, but this just makes no sense.

Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) With MarK Melancon getting ridiculous closers money, any chance the Twins could engage in talks about Glen Perkins or Brandon Kintzler. With the funny money going around in the reliever market perhaps the Twins could interest teams in their closer. Not likely. The reason that those high end closers are getting paid is that most teams do not have an internal equivalent. Not so for Perkins or Kintzler, most teams have their own rehab project or journeyman or better on whom they can roll the dice first. If those guys have a solid first half, you might be able to place them somewhere, but right now, you're not getting any value back. Edited December 6, 2016 by spycake

I wouldn't think so, but what would the Royals do with Solar, why would they be interested in him at all? He doesn't fit their system in any way. Not that it couldn't be mis-information slipped out there by the Cubs.
Gheggs08 Provisional Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Wouldn't the Nats going all in, trading for Sale/maybe McCutchen, be a good thing for us? One would think that would put pressure on the Dodgers to make a deal for Dozier to keep up? Vanimal46 1
