Guest Guests Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Watching Gibson pitch is what I imagine child birth is likeI'm told that I was crying then.
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I'd say about every third slider has a ton of break to it...of the other two, one is buried in the LH batter's box out of his hand, so it never induces a swing and miss, and one is flat and tumbles in somewhere around thigh high near the middle of the plate. Same for his fastball "run." Inconsistent, and he doesn't have the stuff to leave fastballs anywhere near the middle and get away with it very often.<clinks beer bottle> LaBombo and USAFChief 2
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Does Gibson tip his pitches? Yes, but he makes up for it by being so slow and boring to watch that the batter is too lethargic to take advantage of it. ashbury, Riverbrian, USAFChief and 2 others 5

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I tip my pitches about 20% of the time LaBombo and twinssporto 2

ashbury Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 That isn't CF speed we've got there in LF tonight. USAFChief, Jham and Riverbrian 3
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Dear Trevor Plouffe, That ball dropping cost us two runs and the lead. Winners make that play!!! Other than that... How's the wife and kids? Sincerly, Riverbrian twinssporto, Jham, ashbury and 2 others 5

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 That isn't CF speed we've got there in LF tonight. I don't know how Gibson isn't chewing the leather off his glove in anger between the Plouffe Bloop and the Grossman Bloop. Neither of those balls land with the Royals D. ashbury and jud6312 2
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Gibson is not inspiring much confidence operation mindcrime 1
Jham Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I was just wondering why he wasn't throwing more change ups when his slider was giving him so much trouble with location. 1 mystery solved. Bigger mystery of how he was the organizations #1 pitching prospect still remaining...
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Tweren't CF speed in RF on the next batter, neither. Riverbrian 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 Hmmmm.... Grossman.... hmmm... I'm going to have to think about that... Is this happening because I turned the TV on. Should I turn it off? Or is it Molitor, Ryan and Antony's Fault. I'll take the blame if I have to.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Man, the loss of Wednesday night's lead seems to have sent the club into a tailspin.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Three way tedium tie: Watching Gibson contend for the 2016 Steve Trachsel Award, third string Vikings defensive backs doing their best Top Gun Hollywood's "Where'd whoooo go" impression, and Olympic rhythmic gymnasts singlehandedly raise the question of whether once every four years is too often. Jham Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Decent point by Bert... I wonder if Zuke's well publicized issues with framing might have something to do with the relative wildness of our pitching... right on cue...
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Batter is swinging late on Chargois's off-speed stuff. Knows what's coming? Riverbrian 1
Platoon Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Somewhere, Delmon Young is watching this game and laughing at Grossman's range in LF. Yesterday FSN showed one of those catch up to the action videos, and the first three plays were Grossman lead footing it after a double. He really is not much help out there.
Comrade Bork Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Decent point by Bert... I wonder if Zuke's well publicized issues with framing might have something to do with the relative wildness of our pitching... right on cue...Well obviously pitch framing is so the pitchers know where to throw the ball. Duh.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 See The Royals D would make that... Oops ashbury 1
twinssporto Verified Member Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Is this happening because I turned the TV on. Should I turn it off? Or is it Molitor, Ryan and Antony's Fault. I'll take the blame if I have to. Relax Brian. The voodoo stuff doesn't count when your 3 runs down on a Friday night. Now if we we're down 5 runs or only 1 then I would say turn the tv off and climb into bed. Tonight (at this point) you're ok. Always ask before doing something crazy. Voodoo stuff is unpredictable and difficult to interpret. Riverbrian 1
